Look at Act 1 and find examples of each of these

Find an example for each of these in the Graphic Novel Macbeth. Complete the worksheet to show
your understanding. I have given you a few examples to show you how to do this.

indicates their evil nature and power.
High angle Page 13 It provides a new perspective to their actions and makes
it seem different to how it would from a different angle.
Bird’s eye view Page 13 Panel 3 The witches are shown from a bird’s eye view which
makes the audience aware of their surroundings and the
chaotic nature of their trickery while they chant.
Long shot Page 8 The long shot expresses the evil nature of the witches
and makes them and their surrounding seem bad.
Medium shot Page 11 Bottom Left This helps the reader to understand the facial expression
and happiness of the characters.
Close up shot Page 8 mid panel The close up shot depicts their evil and corrupt attributes
as well as their ugliness.
Extreme close Page 8 To panels These extreme close up shots aid in identifying the ugly
up shot features internally and externally of each witch.

Gutter Page 25, top 2 panels The transition from the dude contemplating to him
walking down the stairs upstirs a new level of emotion
and makes the scene more intense
Panel Whole Book A panel indicates the situation happening in a moment.
Like a setting or action.
Bleed Page 24 Bottom The bleed occurring in this image exaggerates the size of
the table full of food which makes him appear wealthier.
Foreground Page 36 The smack at the foreground of the image is used as a
hyperbole to make the slap seem harder and stronger.
Midground Page 12 The witches spinning their sticks and doing their thing is
exaggerated by the lines and their distance in the
midground illustrated.
Background Page 44 The people in the background elevate the level of sorrow
felt within the people for the king’s death which makes it
seem like a big deal to the reader.
Colour Page 9 Panel 2 The low angle shot in this panel with the blood red colour
indicates the fierce battle which is taking place and
further reinforces the violence and danger of war.
Narration Page 24 Bottom A narration is used in this to give context to the audience
of what is occurring in the moment.
