ANYIGBA-IGALA CARNIVAL HOST CITY

Anyigba is a natural paradise situated in the center of Igala land, East of Kogi state
Nigeria. A university town popularly known for its gorgeous vegetation and sun
kissed scenery and subtropical climate. Anyigba is built around one of the busiest
Commercial Centers in Igala land, and our people are our pride.

Ambassador Gabriel Yunusa Enemali aka Okanyi, a community reporter and an


indigene of Anyigba, proudly stated that Anyigba has recently achieved the global
status of one of the 3 Igala wonder cities even though its not a local Government
headquarter, being part of Okura district in Dekina local Government area.

This achievement is a great honour and this positioning is as a result of the


commitment and competitive edge it enjoys as a leading tourism destination,
playing host to the suspended, lgala’s foremost ITALO festival, annual Igala
education summit, and the unity house, the secretariat of the Igala culture and
development Association (ICDA).

Anyigba also proudly plays host to the kogi state university, there is the famous
Igala Unity Roundabout, which ranks the city as a reflection of the rich culture and
Unity of the Igala people. It is also a global market for both local buyers and
exporters of Agricultural farm produce chief amongst which is Cashew and its
value chain products.

Anyigba is now also famous in the global culture and tourism Business, as the host
city of the Igala carnival that brings about 10,000 delegates to the city each year
to drink, interplay, interface, socialize, tour and do business in the culture and
tourism sector.

Simultaneously, Anyigba has been steadily raking up its status as a choice


business travel destination.

Igala carnival is Igala’s and Kogi East’s biggest yet culture tourism event, attracting
tourists from Igala land and all over the world. Anyigba is hosting the 4th event in
the kogi state university stadium on 21st July 2021.
There’s a continuous sustainable growth in transport and hotel business in
Anyigba over the last few years as a result of a considerable number of important
events being held there.

Recognizing this growth spurt, some of the hotels are upgrading and expanding to
meet the ever growing number of guests.

“Anyigba is now being recognized for what it can offer in terms of tourism
experiences, which ranks up there among the best not just in kogi state, but in the
entire Nigeria!!” So says Engineer Unekwuojo Edime, the National president of
Association of cashew farmers, aggregators and processors of Nigeria (ACFAP).

Igala culture and tourism practitioners alongside the Igala carnival, have known
this for a long time, of course as its delegates, doing what people in business and
tourism usually do in Anyigba, - extend their stay in the warmest place to be.
