Answer: According to statistics 85-90% of Avocado's are grown in California, which is supplied to the US
votes
market. The other 10-15% comes mostly from Mexico and a few other countries, which are
supplied mostly to ethnic grocery stores. To be sure of the source ask your local grocer.

Answer: $2.49 is a fair price for Large Avocados. However, the Avacodos I received from Amazon Fresh were

NOT large. I was extremely disappointed with the purchase.

I bought them a few times on different time frames and every time I wasn’t able to eat
them. They ripen unevenly, one part is sunken black, another is solid yellow hard, tastes like
rubber too. Every time I ended up going to the grocery store to buy normal avocados
anyway. And since I make additional trips there, I end up buying other things too so the
need to order from amazon fresh disappeared as I have to go to the store anyway. That’s
how because of single avocados Amazon Fresh loses its profits to other grocery products
too.

already bad, or go bad on the counter instead of ripe. i have never been able to est any of
them. not one.

Ordered 3 large not yet ripe avocados and received 3 fully ripe avocados. They were black
and bruised on the inside and were not edible. I wasted 10 dollars on avocados I couldn't
even eat! I will not be purchasing again in the future.

The thing about avocados is they are yummy. Unfortunately, Amazon began using plastic
bags that seal closed for their fresh deliveries. Those bags smelled horrible, and they
weren't recyclable, yadda yadda. I didn't know that avocados are scent-absorbent, but
apparently they are. My two, beautiful, green, ripe avocados both smelled and tasted like
the strong chemical bags amazon placed them in. It was one of the most disappointing
experiences I've ever had :'(

Delicious and high quality. I buy a whole bunch for the week and leave these out for 3-5
days until one is just starting to 'give' a little when squeezed, and I eat that one. Same the
next day. At that point when more than one is getting to that stage of ripe, I put the rest in
the fridge - I've discovered that if they are just on the verge of ripe, they actually ripen the
rest of the way while in the fridge, just a bit slower, so it gives you time to stretch out the
ripening process so you can eat one a day before they all get ripe at once too fast. On the
other hand you can't put them in the fridge too soon, if they are right BEFORE 'the verge' of
ready, they will ripen unevenly and maybe half of the avocado will be soft and ready and
half still hard. It's a tricky balancing act, but so worth it for health and a daily tasty treat.
One thing I noticed is often when I've gotten avocados from my local grocer or the street
vendor, when they ripen they have rotten spots, or veins/roots(?) start growing through the
flesh. In contrast, these Organic Hass Del Monte avocados are soft and creamy all the way
through when ripe, I haven't experienced that fibrous veiny stuff growing through them as
they ripen like other sources.

These avocados are small and expensive. If you really want to take a chance, just know that
you're paying more for a small sized avocado. The quality is inconsistent. Most of mine arrive
hard and ripen within a few days (and are still small LOL). It's really a shame; these should
either be reduced in price or the description needs to remove the word 'large.' Definitely
small.

i've tried periodically ordering avocados with my fresh orders to the door and just wow,
every time at least 3/4 of the avocados are completely inedible. they're either severely
under or over ripe. never do they just show up like all of the other produce known to man
that's ready to consume after purchase. either the stock is absolute garbage and they're
incapable of timing the inventory to be edible, USABLE avocados or the shopper is the
dumbest person alive literally every time. don't put bright green hockey puck dense
avocados in my bag or ones that have turned browner that your turds. this is absolutely
ridiculous.
