How Jacob Elordi’s Ex Helped Him Make His Impressive Net Worth

https://www.seventeen.com/celebrity/movies-tv/a28913477/jacob-elordi-net-worth/

His role as Noah threw him into the spotlight.

Jacob Elordi may have less than two years in the spotlight, but he's already making his
mark. His big break came when he landed the role of Noah Flynn in the Netflix
movie, The Kissing Booth. The movie turned out to be a huge hit and fans can't wait for
its sequel to drop sometime in 2020. Though we know Jacob from his role in a romantic
comedy, he's already proved he's got range with his new role on the HBO
series, Euphoria, a teen drama following a group of high schoolers who experience
everything from drug addiction to strained relationships with their parents. Jacob is
only 22 and it's clear his resume's about to get a lot longer, meaning he'll be making
much more money along the way. Here's what you should know about Jacob Elordi's net
worth.

Jacob makes most of his money from his acting roles. His career in acting started way
before he played Noah in The Kissing Booth. Since Jacob was interested in acting since
he was young, he participated in many of his school dramas. But he first started acting
professionally when he played the Cat in the Hat in a production of Seussical.

Jacob's first role in a Hollywood film was actually uncredited. He played a St. Martins
Marine in the 2017 film Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. But that
same year he landed the role of Rooster in an Australian film called Swinging Safari.

One of his biggest roles to date, though, is his part as Noah in The Kissing Booth. Jacob
plays Joey King's love interest in the movie and the older brother of Lee, played by Joel
Courtney. Since the movie's sequel has already wrapped up filming, Jacob can count two
huge paychecks from both of those projects. Part 2 is supposed to premiere sometime
next year.

Jacob's most recent project is his role as Nate Jacobs in the series Euphoria. On the
series, Jacob plays a jock dealing with anger issues and sexual insecurities. The show's
first season was a hit and the series was renewed for a second season in July 2019.

Jacob's paychecks don't end at Euphoria, though. He has a ton of other projects in the
works, including a horror film called The Mortuary Collection and a comedy called The
Very Excellent Mr. Dundee.

Now that Jacob's made a name in himself in young Hollywood, he's also beginning to
cash checks from brands who want to work with him. He recently stripped down to his
underwear to star in a Calvin Klein campaign.
With only two years on the scene, Jacob is raking in a lot of cash.

According to PopBuzz, he net worth sits somewhere around $1 million and he's

probably be making more millions soon.

Money in the bank! Kissing Booth and Kissing Booth 2 star Joey King is quickly

becoming one of the biggest breakout stars in Hollywood — but does her wallet reflect
her successes? The A-lister is worth a solid $3 million, according to Celebrity Net
Worth. How, exactly, has she amassed so much cash with such a young career? Here’s
a breakdown.

Joey Is, First and Foremost, an Actress

The performer has been working in the business since before she started kindergarten!
Joey worked actively in commercial acting until she was 6 years old and starred in
hundreds of commercials growing up.
In 2006, when she was 7, she appeared on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody before
going on to star in her first film project, Reign Over Me, the same year. From there,
she appeared in several popular films, TV shows and animated works as she aged,
including Entourage, Horton Hears a Who, Ramona and Beezus, The
Conjuring and Fargo.
In 2018, she got her big break starring opposite her real-life boyfriend Jacob Elordi in
the Netflix hit film The Kissing Booth. The couple has since split — but they returned to
reprise their roles in the 2020 sequel. Both films have huge adolescent followings.

In 2019, Joey made her mark as a serious actress when she starred as Gypsy Rose
Blanchard opposite Patricia Arquette in Hulu’s The Act, chronicling Blanchard’s real-
life troubled history with her mother, DeeDee, which led to the matriarch’s murder. She
earned both Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for her work on the
miniseries.
In July 2020, the starlet inked a first-look deal with Hulu, which means the streaming
platform will have the first rights to consider one of her projects for production and/or
distribution by giving financial support during the development period. Usually, these
types of contracts also include a clause stating the production company will be one of
the first performers contacted if a project that suits them comes along.

In 2018, Joey King and Jacob Elordi starred in The Kissing Booth on Netflix. Their
characters, Elle Evans and Noah Flynn, were basically the cutest onscreen couple ever
— and viewers everywhere quickly became obsessed with the movie. Of course, after
fans found out Joey and Jacob were dating in real life, the fandom grew even more!
In the beginning, their relationship was pretty much a Hollywood fairytale. “Well, I
thought he was very cute when we first met, but it started as a friendship. Right away
we were talking about gross things with each other,” Joey previously
told Bello magazine.

“But before long I started to realize, ‘Hey, I think I kind of like this person!’ It was such
an interesting experience meeting your boyfriend on set because you spend so much
time together and become so close so fast,” the Act star continued. “We were spending
17 hours a day together, and all of us would hang out after work and watch movies
together and stuff. It was great.”
After The Kissing Booth hit Netflix on May 11, 2018, Joey continued to gush over Jacob
every chance she got — as did those who worked with the couple. “It’s exciting for
people to know what they saw on screen was real,” the Summer ‘03 actress told The
New York Times in July 2018.

“You never plan for that, you don’t expect it to happen, but they’re so great together,
and it shows in every scene,” added Kissing Booth director, Vince Marcello.
Sadly, just like in the movies, young love sometimes comes to an end. In November
2018, Joey and Jacob quietly called it quits. Now, here’s where things get complicated.
Due to the popularity of The Kissing Booth, Netflix gave The Kissing Booth 2 the green
light in February 2019.

With that, Joey and Jacob returned to their roles as Elle and Noah — except this time,
as exes! To learn more about what filming was like for them and see a complete
timeline of their relationship, scroll through the gallery below.

OCTOBER 2019
Months after shooting The Kissing Booth 2, Joey made it clear that she and Jacob had
no trouble filming together … for the most part.
“I know what everyone wants to know, of course. And yeah, it was crazy,” she said of
working with Jacob during an October 2019 interview with influencer Lauren
Elizabeth. “It was a wild experience, but honestly, it was a really beautiful time because
I learned a lot about myself and I grew as an actor, I grew as a person.”
Joey also said the more intimate scenes with her former flame were “fine” and
ultimately, she was able to put her feelings aside for the sake of the movie.

Joey King seemingly called out her ex-boyfriend and costar Jacob Elord after he claimed
he hasn't seen their Netflix movie The Kissing Booth 2.

The actor, who plays Noah Flynn in the film, told Variety that he hasn't watched the
sequel, which premiered on the streaming network July 24. "I haven’t seen it," Elordi
said. “You’ve seen more than I have. I don’t know if I’m allowed to say that, but I
haven’t.”

He went on to kinda-sorta-definitely shade the film by telling the interviewer to “be

honest” when they said they liked the rom-com.

Elordi's quotes quickly made headlines and appear to have inspired a reaction
from King, who couldn't help but fire back at his interview comments in a since deleted
tweet. “Jacob watched it. He's capping,” she wrote, according to Us Weekly. (Capping
is slang for lying, BTW.)

The exes started dating in 2017, soon after they first met and worked together on the
first Kissing Booth movie. King opened up to Bello magazine about how their
relationship began.

"Was it love at first sight? Well, I thought he was very cute when we first met, but it
started as a friendship," she said in 2018. "Right away we were talking about gross
things with each other. But before long I started to realize, Hey, I think I kind of like this
person!”

“It was such an interesting experience meeting your boyfriend on set because you spend
so much time together and become so close so fast,” King added. “We were spending 17
hours a day together, and all of us would hang out after work and watch movies together
and stuff. It was great.”

They reportedly broke up after one year, but Elordi and King still had to share the screen
to play a couple in the movie's sequel.

Currently, the pair are both said to have moved on with other costars. Rumors recently
started flying that Joey King is dating her Kissing Booth 2 costar Taylor Zakhar Perez,
who plays her other potential love interest, Marco Peña, when the pair
were photographed on vacation together.

As for Elordi, he's been romantically linked to his Euphoria costar Zendaya after they

were spotted kissing in New York City. The pair have yet to publicly confirm whether
they're an item, though.

No matter who's dating who, we hope Elordi finally got a chance to watch The Kissing
Booth 2.

Joey King is saying, "Thank you, next" to ex and Kissing Booth co-star Jacob Elordi.
During a new interview on The Howard Stern Show, King opened up about what she
learned from her year-long relationship with Elordi and why she's sworn off dating
fellow actors—for now.

King and Elordi fell in love playing onscreen couple Elle Evans and Noah Flynn in the
first Kissing Booth film. They quietly split in 2018, reuniting for two sequels to the hit
Netflix rom-com soon after. "I think it’s a good thing we dated in the first place. I
learned the most I’ve ever learned in my life from him,” King said of Elordi, who is
rumored to be dating Euphoria co-star Zendaya. But when pressed about whether she'd
"ever date another actor again," King had a quick response. “No. I couldn’t,” she replied.
“I think that it’s awesome to date someone in your field, who gets it, but doing the same
exact thing as somebody is tough. It’s really tough."

King also addressed rumors about a recent tweet involving Elordi that sparked
confusion. Shortly after the release of The Kissing Booth 2, Elordi stated in
a Variety interview that he hadn't actually watched the movie. Later that day, King
jokingly tweeted, “Jacob watched it. He’s capping.” But the tweet was soon deleted with
no explanation.

King explained to Stern that "'capping' means lying," adding, "I heard the term ‘capping’
on, like, TikTok and Twitter and Instagram, through friends, and I was like, ‘I guess this
is the new thing.” After the tweet disappeared, some speculated that it had to do with
Elordi. But the actress confirmed she did receive permission from her ex to write the
tweet and that he "had a good sense of humor" about it. "It’s something I should not
have used as a white person. I took it down … two accounts on Twitter called me out for
it, that’s why I deleted it,” King clarified.

This isn't the first time King has had to answer questions about working with an ex.
During a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, she admitted to understanding fan
speculation about on-set tension. “No one’s thinking to themselves, That was easy,
because it wasn’t," King said of working with Elordi. "I’m sure people will analyze every
movement and every detail. And you know what? Let them. But at the end of the day, I
was just thrilled to be Elle Evans again."

Back in October, King said the "sacrifice" of working with her ex-boyfriend was "totally
worth it." "I'm a fan with how [the film] resonated with the world, it resonated with me,"
she said on the Mood With Lauren Elizabeth podcast. "So going back and doing that
and making the sacrifice of what, obviously, everyone is thinking about—outwardly
addressing, but what I'm kind of on the sly addressing, making those sacrifices was
totally worth it."
It appears that King has stuck to her no-actor dating rule. She's reportedly linked to The
Act  producer Steven Piet, whom she met while giving her Emmy-nominated
performance as Gypsy Rose on the Hulu series. King referred to Piet as her "sweet
boyfriend" in an April essay for InStyle, curbing rumors she's dating Kissing Booth
2 co-star (and second love interest) Taylor Zakhar Perez.

Working alongside your ex-boyfriend is never easy. But Joey King and Jacob Elordi did it
flawlessly when they returned to film the Netflix rom-com The Kissing Booth 2 as well as
the yet-to-be-released third film which was shot in secret.
King, 21, stars as Elle Evans, a high school junior who falls for bad boy Noah Flynn,
played by Australian actor Elordi, 23. By the end of the film, Noah and Elle are in love.
In the sequel, The Kissing Booth 2, Noah has left home to study at Harvard University
while Elle is starting her senior year at high school.

King and Elordi started dating after they met on the set of the first film in 2017.
However, they split before returning for the second film.
What happened between Jacob Elordi and Joey King?
King and Elordi met during filming for The Kissing Booth in 2017. The pair made their
relationship Instagram official when King posted photos with Elordi in June 2017.
During a series of red carpet appearances for the film's release, they looked madly in
love.
King later spoke about Elordi in an interview with Bello magazine.
"Was it love at first sight? Well, I thought he was very cute when we first met, but it
started as a friendship. Right away we were talking about gross things with each other,"
she said.

"But before long I started to realise, 'Hey, I think I kind of like this person!' It was such an
interesting experience meeting your boyfriend on set because you spend so much time
together and become so close so fast. We were spending 17 hours a day together, and
all of us would hang out after work and watch movies together and stuff. It was great."
However by the end of 2018, it looked like the couple had gone their separate ways.
In November 2018, it appeared to be over for the couple after Elordi told fans he was
taking a break from social media. "G'day! Like to take a moment to thank everyone for
the support over the last year," he wrote in a since-deleted post. "I'm incredibly grateful
to be able to connect with so many of you. I'm going to be signing off on this whole
social media shebang while I work. Cheers for everything, stay happy :)."
Meanwhile, King hinted she was going through a breakup by tweeting on November 28,
"Thank god I have my dog tho."
In an interview with Refinery29 in July 2019, King seemingly opened up about the split.
"All you can really do at is shut your phone off and crawl into your sister's bed and
watch Friends with her, because when you're going through something and the world
wants to go through it with you or [wants] to get every piece of detail from you about it,
it's really difficult. Some of these things are just meant for you," she said of the apparent
breakup.
Who is Jacob Elordi's girlfriend?
Elordi is rumoured to be in a relationship with Zendaya. The pair worked together
during filming for Euphoria. Neither of them have ever publicly confirmed they were
together, however they have been seen getting close during a visit to New York City

King is calling out her co-star Jacob Elordi after he claimed to have never seen their
movie, The Kissing Booth 2.
The 23-year-old actor told Variety in a recent interview that he has not seen
the Netflix film, which premiered on the streaming network last month.
"I haven’t seen it," Elordi said of the movie, where he stars alongside King as her on-
screen love interest in both installments. "You’ve seen more than I have. I don’t know if
I’m allowed to say that, but I haven’t," he added.
Reacting to Elordi's interview statement, King couldn't help but rebuttal his claim
and tweeted, “Jacob watched it. He’s capping," before she quickly deleted the post.
While King and Elordi share an on-screen romance in the series of films, the pair also
used to have a romance in real-life as well. The duo previously dated for a year and a
half after filming the first Kissing Booth, before ending their relationship back in 2018.
The Emmy-nominated actress spoke about reuniting with the Euphoria star while on the
podcast Mood With Lauren Elizabeth  back in November 2019.
“I know what everyone wants to know, of course,” King said, indirectly addressing what
it was like to work with Elordi again. “It was crazy. It was a wild experience. But
honestly, it was a really beautiful time. Because I learned a lot about myself and I grew
as an actor."
She continued, "I grew as a person on this," and revealed, "It was fine. It was good,"
when she was asked what it was like working on love scenes with her ex.

The playful banter between the two co-stars comes about after it was announced that a
third installment in the Kissing Booth series has already been filmed and will premiere
on Netflix next year, where the two stars will reunite once again.
The third installment of Netflix's popular rom-com franchise was filmed in secret
alongside the sequel in South Africa and King shared the exciting news on social media
in an Instagram post.

Netflix hit The Kissing Booth.
King, 20, previously dated Elordi, 22, for over a year before they split in 2018, according
to Refinery29, who interviewed the actress in July.
The Emmy-nominated actress spoke about reuniting with the Euphoria star while on the
podcast Mood With Lauren Elizabeth.
“I know what everyone wants to know, of course,” King said, indirectly addressing what

As for what it was like working on love scenes with her ex, King said, “It was fine. It was

The Kissing Booth follows the story of a teenage girl, Elle, whose budding romance with
a high school senior, Noah, (Elordi) puts her lifelong friendship with Noah’s younger
brother, Lee (Joel Courtney) in jeopardy.
The film is based on a book of the same name by Beth Reekles.
