Possibilities in Resolving Conflict

Conflict is a normal part of any healthy relationships. After all, two people can’t be expected to agree on
everything all the time. The key is to learn how to resolve it in non-violent ways.
Conflict resolution is a way for two or more parties to find a peaceful solution to a disagreement among
them. Possible conflict resolutions include avoiding when someone tries to ignore or sidestep the conflict,
hoping it will resolve itself; postpone when both may put off talking about the problem until they are both
calm to talk; give in when the person surrenders to what the other one wants; get help when the two
persons involved in the disagreement would ask a third person to help them solve the problem; and
compromise when both persons involved in the conflict talk calmly and find a solution that would make them
both satisfied.
