MICROPUR®

The innovative fine sieving system from WABAG

Effective pre-treatment is an important prerequisite for

safe wastewater treatment.

The effectiveness and the efficiency of biological wastewater tre-

atment are largely dependent upon sufficient and dependable
pre-treatment. Moreover, especially with regard to sensitive tre-
atment processes, e.g. membrane bioreactors, the reliable remo-
val of contaminants is a fundamental requirement for stable plant
operation.

Optimised pre-treatment
On the basis of over 90 years of experience in the construction
and operation of wastewater treatment plants, we have
developed the Micropur® process, which represents an
advanced fine sieving system.

Micropur® – highly efficient and extremely

compact.
Micropur® is a sophisticated, mechanical pre-treatment process,
which in particular removes organic, coarse and suspended so-
lids from wastewater to a high degree. Moreover, the integrated Micropur®
dewatering of screenings and an innovative cleaning system make Screening drum
this process extremely compact. (inside view)

Significantly improved removal rates for organic contaminants, fib-

res and hair, as well as oils and fats, result in enhanced operational
safety and reduce the load on downstream treatment steps.

The dewatered screenings can be used directly in sludge treat-

ment (digester), or as a fuel.

This facilitates the energetic optimisation of the complete waste-

water treatment plant, as well as a reduction in operating costs.

The separated solids are transported via a screw conveyor to the

dewatering zone, where they are thickened to a concentration of

degree of dewatering can be adjusted according to the require-
ments of the planned disposal.
