Letter of Recommendation

I am writing this letter of recommendation for Mr. Yash Thakare, who is applying for graduate
studies at your esteemed university. I have observed him during academic
courses and related assignments, and have known him for three years.

I have taught him "Machine Learning Techniques" in the seventh semester. With consistently
scoring high marks in the exams and securing A+ grade in the final exam, he was
among the top performers of my class. I have also seen him working diligently on his
assignments and projects. He was punctual and always very interactive in the class and
frequently came up with doubts and interesting questions during lectures. He
demonstrated his clear understanding of studies through assignments and projects.

While my tenure as the HOD of Computer Technology, Yash along with his four team
members, in his fifth semester successfully organized 3 days workshop on "Internet of Things"
(IOT), in which he and his team delivered lectures and conducted hands-on
sessions on loT for participants, under my guidance. I can attest his
understanding with C, C++ as he used Arduino language in his IOT projects,
which combines the best features of both C and C++. Also, his apt knowledge about the
hardware used in 10T such as the sensors, Arduino Uno, microcontroller,
application board is appreciable. I also feel a sense of pride mentioning that not only
he taught his juniors but he also taught his batch mates and his seniors in the workshop
and also many faculty members too participated in it. Yash and his team were praised in
the entire department and the students responded to their workshop with a
positive feedback. Looking towards the enthusiasm and interest of the students to learn
this new technology IOT, the department introduced IOT as a professional
elective as a part of the curriculum for the students of the computer technology
department. Yash has good communication skills and is a patient listener, he clearly
conveys his ideas about the projects he is interested in and also he is an excellent
speaker, he was very efficient while giving the lectures and used analogies to simplify the
otherwise hard to understand technicalities and the jargons used in IOT.

Yash also possesses good social skills; he actively participated each year in the annual
tech-fest of the department known as the "Compufest". He is hard working and has
good aptitude and technical skills and I am confident that he will perform brilliantly at your
institution. I wish him all the best and recommend Yash Thakare for admission as well

I am writing this letter to recommend my student Mr. Yash Thakare who intends to
pursue the master's program in your prestigious institution. I have known Yash
for three years and have taught him "Artificial Intelligence" in the practical
sessions. I have observed him as a diligent and attentive student. He has
reasonably good communication skills and technical skills.
Yash was always very responsive in the class and performed brilliantly in his
tests. I found him to be a sincere student with a practical approach and he has a
keen desire to amass knowledge. He has a good understanding of the subject;
he preferred practical and experimental knowledge over exams which have
helped him secure A+ grade in the Artificial Intelligence Lab. Yash ranks among
the top 10 percent in the department. He has participated in workshops like
ethical hacking. Apart from studies, Yash has been very active in the extra-
curricular activities, he represented the college in the inter-university tennis
tournament.

Yash is an excellent photographer and is known for his amazing photography

skills throughout the department, he worked in the capacity of a "Photography
Head" for the department. Along with this he possesses great writing skills, his
articles titled as "Smart Village" and "Designing it my way" were published in the
annual technical magazine of the department. His photographs and articles
were also often featured in the local newspaper "The Hitvada”. Yash was
elected as the contingent leader wherein he got a chance to represent the
college in IIT Bombay's cultural fest named as “Mood Indigo".

He later worked in ihe capacity of a "Compufest Head” in the department's

annual tech-fest known as "Compufest" where he managed his team and
different workshops on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Web
Development. He also successfully conducted a workshop on "Mobile
Photography" where he shared his skills and knowledge with the participants.
Yash got associated with an NGO named as Swach which aims at clean India
mission.

I understand that he is a promising student and has the right aptitude and
motivation for further studies. I am confident that he will be a successful and highly

I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Mr. Yash Thakare as a part of his
application for graduate studies at your institute. Being the faculty advisor for Yash, I
have known him since July 2016 and observed him closely during his academic
courses.

He is very interactive and has always been very keen to know about the different
electives offered by the department and its coursework. He was a student of mine in the
course-"Business Intelligence and Its Applications as well as in the practical
sessions, with securing A+ grade, he was among the top 3% of my class. He is very
passionate about Data Science and Data Analytics and Business Intelligence being a subset of
this domain, he opted for this professional elective and performed exceptionally well in it. He
was always very excited and enthusiastic during the lectures and came up with practical
doubts. His fondness for the subject was evident in the practical sessions
wherein he learned about the Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) process in detail. He
also practiced reporting on top of the data on different tools like Orange, Pentaho, made
dashboards on tableau and represented the data through effective visualizations in R. Yash has
also participated in the workshops on R language and Mobile BI organized by the computer
technology department.

He always wanted to explore things outside his course-work and had always wanted to
gain industry knowledge. He was among the 5 out of 400 students who got selected as
Project Intern in the leading Business Intelligence Company "InfoCepts Pvt. Ltd." through
campus selection drive. As a result of his hard work and penchant toward this domain got
him selected in InfoCepts Pvt. Ltd, he practiced his knowledge there which he gained
during his classes.
