Some people said that: “Smartphones are useful for students when studying”.

To what extend do you agree or disagree.

Whether smartphones have positive effects on students' study or not is a

matter of discussion. Some people claim that this device helps students learn better
while others argue it has devastating impacts on education. I partly agree with this
statement for the following reasons.

On the one hand, it is undeniable that smartphones exert good impacts on

students' gaining knowledge. Because it is portable and accessible, students can
study anytime and anywhere, which means they are not confined to a classroom or
a schedule and can learn at their convenience. Moreover, smartphones not only can
store a large amount of information but also allow us to download many online
applications and learning software, therefore, students don't have to carry lots of
books but still can absorb knowledge effectively. Taking me as an example,
besides learning at school, I also study online at home with apps like Hoc247,
Photomath, Qanda and get better results in class.

On the other hand, smartphones, to a certain extent, put the students at steak.
When they spend too much time looking at the smartphones' screen, they will run
the risk of having health problems such as sore eyes, shortsightedness, headache,
and so on. This will make students' study less effective. Furthermore, in spite of
study, some students use smartphones to play games, surf Facebook, chat with
friends. My brother is a case in point. He always plays games during the lessons
and at the end of the semester, his results were very bad.

In conclusion, I partly agree with the idea. Although smartphones can help
students study better and make learning more enjoyable, they still have deleterious
effects on students.
