My Reaction

The revolution of the Spaniards around the globe over the course of the 16 th
century was the most influenced reign due to its countless amount of years by foreign
entities walking on native soil for the perception of the Filipinos who dwelled within.
There have been countless wars and injustice as for our predecessors had been spilling
blood on their own land, inevitably taking the Pandora’s Box due to the state of being
confused and the lack of knowledge. The movie depicts the everyday life of the early
Filipinos only just from the main character’s point of view, knowing there must be a lot
more dreadful experiences that are too implicit to be documented. Leadership over time
has passed, from Spanish to Spanish. To Filipinos, there was not even a shot of hope to
release the yoke because they being maimed, prevented themselves to move. It came
to a long pass for the American era to stumble over again to our hometown, still being
under the hands on another foreign people grabbing the authority.

There is a fine line between the past and the present that seeing the difference
on the two timelines mostly have the same manner of being dominated by high-profiled
personalities. The people who originally lived on their vicinity do what they were told
what the authorities put out to whatever extent they were trying to progress and
achieve. The rights made by this country restricts the illegal actions of Filipino citizens
the same way to be protected and to neglect tolerance on the wrongdoings by any
person committing any form of violation. In terms of culture and arts, the Spaniard
regime is more of being noble and religious that it influenced the country but it comes to
a difference on the southern area in the Philippines. There are processions and other
religious acts in the morning with the inclusion of the figure of Jesus Christ being carried
around. The source of entertainment are from theatres and plays in which artists
practice on roles with instructors for corrections but is played extemporaneously in front
of the audience rather than being captured in footages. When it comes to love and
courtship, this has been changed completely, although the primary affections and
emotions are still the same. This aspect then was about fame, money, music, poetry
and any other art which can look appealing to everybody’s eyes. As for the norms,
people would usually go out of their houses to scrapple news and information with
others mostly due to the dirty actions of the Spanish people that would then cover the
incidents just like another day is wasted.

Expressing my opinion on the era that my own self wanted to live, I will still pick
the present time as my choice to continue to live having the two scenarios said to have
the twists and turns. The regimes felt timely, considering all the earliest mementos that
were able to be saved including some of the pictures that have only kept the most
sufficient evidences about the happenings from centuries ago. The national hero has
spoken himself as the description of the Filipinos all throughout the race of timeline as
indolent people. It is not about the passivity of a person to become less functional, it is
mostly from the influence of other individuals or the ideologies that feels redundant to
them. There are purposes to which Filipino citizens are not into something that is
proposed. Even to the start of life, humans will eventually find resources for themselves
because they need them. The present has its own flaws due to the past mistakes that
are still unsolved and brought on the present day for the today’s people. Filipinos are
said to be resilient, and will not give away the opportunity to become one of the greatest
countries, starting from its stability to sustain the cycle of living for the sake of the
continuous decades.
