To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to wholeheartedly endorse Kimberly E. Loschiavo for an educational leadership position. She
exhibits personal leadership qualities and has a strong knowledge of teaching and learning. I have known Ms.
Loschiavo both personally and professionally for over sixteen years. As principal of Public School 45 I had the
pleasure of supervising Ms. Loschiavo as a literacy coach from September 2004 to June 2008 and then as an
assistant principal from June 2008 – June 2009. During that time, she consistently demonstrated her
conscientiousness and commitment to education.
Specifically in her role as assistant principal Ms. Loschiavo nurtured positive relationships with students, staff
and the parent community. She is passionately dedicated to the students and their journey towards success
and spent countless hours developing strategies to increase student achievement. She provided direct
assistance to me and worked as a team with the other assistant principal concerning all facets of day-to-day
school administration to ensure a smooth running, efficient and cost-effective operation in all respects. She
also led the work in developing, revising and implementing curricula; reflected on current teaching practices
and determined areas for improvement.
Furthermore, Ms. Loschiavo reviewed and evaluated the annual budget with me; met with faculty members to
determine needed supplies and resources; ordered materials for teachers; ensuring strict adherence to
budgetary guidelines. She also was an active member of the Instructional Team; planned and coordinated
professional development workshops for faculty and conducted formal observations for all teaching staff. In
addition, she supervised K-2 recess and handled student disciplinary issues as well as health/safety matters.
As Literacy Coach Ms. Loschiavo was a key member of the Instructional Team and used data analysis to plan
school wide goals, lead professional development sessions and parent information workshops. In addition she
coached, modeled and supported new teachers in all aspects of teaching including planning, lesson execution
and classroom management.
Ms. Loschiavo exhibits exceptional learning interests and abilities as well as team spirit and kindness to others.
She is inspiring, energetic, and hardworking. In addition, Ms. Loschiavo is highly motivated and self-directed
and has good organizational, time management and communication skills. She is willing to work beyond the
boundaries of the job description to contribute to a powerful team. Ms. Loschiavo is a lifelong learner always
embracing new challenges and thrives on professional feedback.

I confidently recommend Ms. Loschiavo for any supervisory position where her academic and personal growth
will continue. If you need any further information, please feel free to contact me via e-mail or phone.

Sincerely,

Teresa Caccavale
