For this assessment, you are to be observed on 3 separate occasions (2 observations by your
workplace supervisor and 1 observation by your assessor). For this activity you are required to
demonstrate your ability to manage legal and ethical compliance.
You are to choose 1 legal requirement and 1 ethical requirement and prepare a presentation
for other group members educating them on your new found knowledge.
You will need to now present this information to your group as your observation activity. Please
ensure this presentation is performed in a formal manner, and addresses the following
requirements:
1. Identify your sources of information regarding compliance requirements.
2. Clearly articulate and document policies and procedures to support legal and ethical
practice.
3. Use readily accessible formats such as PPT or video presentations and provide this to
your assessor for assessment purposes.
4. Provide printed version of your presentation in a readily accessible format such as a Word
document.
5. Ensure you provide time enough for questioning and clarification.
6. You should ensure you gather feedback from the group after the presentation and this
should be submitted in a readily accessible format for assessment also.
7. In your presentation you are also required to discuss with the group the accreditations and
certifications your organisation is required to have in order to operate legally.
8. You should list and discuss each accreditation and certification your organisation is
required to have along with the penalties and consequences of non-compliance.

1. You are to research information about compliance and ethical practice responsibilities, and
then develop and monitor policies and procedures to meet those responsibilities. To do this
you will need to choose an organisation that you either work for or would like to work for
and complete the following tasks:
a. Identify and research the information they would need for legal compliance. Please write
a short report on the compliance information and a summary of each one including
penalties and consequences for non-compliance.
b. Identify any specialist advice that may need to be sought.
c. Research and discuss the ethical responsibilities involved in this organisation including:

Responsibilities of workers, clients and the broader community
d. Discuss the types of actions you could perform that would model ethical behaviour for
others.
2. You are to complete the following activities for the organisation you chose above, including:
a. Develop a full set of policies and procedures relevant to the organisation about
managing compliance and ethical practice in both internal work practice and external
service delivery.
Please ensure you allocate a section in your procedures for protecting client
information.
Then discuss the methods you would use to distribute these policies, procedures
and legal information to colleagues and peers and the timelines for delivery.
b. Develop a strategic response to at least 3 different situations where legal or ethical
requirements could be breached and identify control measures to ensure this will not
happen in the future.

b. There are three different situations where legal and ethical could be breached.
Conflicts related to interests: This situation arises when the entity's interest comes
under conflict with their client regarding any term or condition from which the client
feels risk and unsecured sense.
Competing values: This situation mainly arises while operational workings at the
workplace.
Several client’s systems: This situation is mainly faced when numerous clients and
ineffective management fail to handle the clients' crowd. It is also true that multiple
clients create ethical dilemmas, but management efficiency should be effective and
wholly accountable.

a. What methods would you use to ensure you maintained knowledge of current and

The word complaints management refers to how a corporation handles client complaints.
The complaint is meant to be assessed logically and organised and then used to make a
good effect. It's often required to fix the problem that caused the client's dissatisfaction. The
purpose of complaint management is to increase client loyalty while also ensuring quality.
CPE is required for awarding the staff and individual members regarding the legal and ethical
responsibilities. For this purpose, Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) are required by the
business entities. It is aimed to assist them in retaining their competence and skillsets as
professional service providers. CPAs must comply with all regulations set forth by the state in
which they are registered as part of their continuous responsibilities to keep their CPA
certification.
