June 10, 2021

To ensure the spreading of information in school, the Division of Oriental Mindoro conducted the 1 st Division
School Information Coordinators’ Meeting to adopt and use alternative modes of delivering information effectively in a
school guaranteeing the health, safety and wellbeing of all teachers and other DepEd employees in this time of
pandemic,

In reference to Division memorandum dated June 4, 2021, designated SICs were called through Google Meet
to facilitate the 1st Division School Information Coordinators’ Meeting. The meeting was energetically led by Ms. Eleanor
N Nieva, Division Information Officer. She prepared a Powerpoint Presentation for the Opening Prayer followed the
Reading of the Agenda. She continued the discussion about the Division Memorandum No. 41, s. 2021. She discussed
also the Republic Act No. 6713 about the code of conduct and ethical standards for public officials and employees. She
started with a game thru asking what should be the character of SIC, then discussion was resumed.
The next speaker was Ms. Jenalyn B. Generato, the Assistant Division Information Officer discussed the
communication protocols and social media etiquette. She followed also the Orientation to the different SDO Media
Platforms. She reiterates that the communication plan is very important because it is the roadmap or blueprint of a
message house and a strategy for getting key messages delivered to target stakeholders. It formally defines who
should be given what information, when the information shall be delivered, and what channels shall be used to deliver
the information and provides evaluation mechanism.
Ms. Jenalyn Generato added that SDO Oriental Mindoro aims to strengthen the efficient delivery and timely
dissemination of quality information not only to its direct client and primary audience but to all sectors involved in
ensuring the provision of education to all Mindoreno learners, promoting two-way communication that encourages
dialogue, interaction and wider participation. Then open forum ended the meeting.
The activities were carried on smoothly as each SICs work together collaboratively and participated actively.
Despite the struggling internet connectivity, the facilitator and SICs engaged with the discussion actively and
collaboratively that leads to the successful execution of meeting through online in this new normal.
