(1) History
This Service Bulletin is issued further to an operator's request.
(2) Objective/Action
This Service Bulletin activates the Automatic Dependant Surveillance Broadcast-out
(ADS-B out) DO-260B capability.
Compared to the ADS-B out DO-260, this function allows transmitting additional
parameters using the Air Traffic Control (ATC) transponder DO-260B capable.
This Service Bulletin adapts pin-programming of ATC and T3CAS (if installed).
(3) Advantages
Accomplishment of this Service Bulletin fulfills the operator's request.
(4) Operational/Maintenance Consequences
The Operational/Maintenance Consequences of this Service Bulletin are covered by
the update of the affected publications detailed in “PLANNING INFORMATION“.

This Service Bulletin activates the Automatic Dependant Surveillance Broadcast-out
(ADS-B out) DO-260B capability.
Compared to the ADS-B out DO-260, this function allows transmitting additional
parameters using the Air Traffic Control (ATC) transponder DO-260B capable.
This Service Bulletin adapts pin-programming of ATC and T3CAS (if installed).

WIRING IN A SATISFACTORY CONDITION (ELECTRICALLY AND MECHANICALLY
SERVICEABLE). WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE WORK, REPAIRS OR
MODIFICATIONS, ALWAYS KEEP ELECTRICAL WIRING, COMPONENTS AND
THE WORK AREA AS CLEAN AS POSSIBLE. TO DO THIS:

NECESSARY ON WIRING AND COMPONENTS

(a) Do the test procedure as specified after the installation of the T3CAS (T/TISS)
(FIN 1000SG), refer to Ref. AMM Task 34-72-34-400-001.
(b) Do the test procedure as specified after the installation of the ATC/Mode S
(c) Do the functional test of the ATC Mode S for ADS-B OUT DO-260B capability,
refer to Ref. AMM Task 34-52-00-720-005 (SUBTASK “Functional Test of ATC MODE
S for the ADS-B OUT DO-260B Function”).
NOTE: If the Ref. AMM Task 34-52-00-720-005, SUBTASK “Functional Test of ATC
MODE S for the ADS-B OUT DO-260B Function”, is not available in the
latest AMM operator's issue, do these steps:
NOTE: This test has to be performed with ATC1 and ATC2. In this configuration,
the ATC2 function is integrated in the T3CAS computer ( FIN 1000SG).
NOTE: You must do this test very quickly to prevent interference with air traffic.
If the test is long, you must tell the nearest airport about this test.

NOTE: For best test results, buildings, vehicles and other aircraft must not be in
the area of the main antenna lobe (approximately 30ft (10 m)).
1 Job set-up.
a Obey the applicable safety precautions before flight configuration
with electrical power, refer to Ref. AMM Task 32-00-00-860-001.
NOTE: It is necessary to do only once the flight configuration

precautions with electrical power during ATC/Mode S
transponder functional test.
b Energize the aircraft electrical circuits, refer to Ref. AMM Task 24-41-
00-861-002.
c Do the Air Data/Inertial Reference Unit (ADIRS) start procedure, refer
to Ref. AMM Task 34-10-00-860-002.
d Set a flight plan to get a flight number, refer to Ref. AMM Task 22-70-
00-710-002.
NOTE: Use a company route stored in the NAV DATA BASE. Set the
flight number manually in the Multipurpose Control and
Display Unit (MCDU) if it is not displayed.
e On the Electrical Panel 8VU, make sure that the AIR DATA selector
switch is set to NORM.
f If possible, put the TEST UNIT - ATCRB, MODE S WITH ELS EHS
FUNCTIONS and the user manual in the cockpit.
NOTE: You can do this test automatically if:

- You use a test set that has the automatic test function
- You make sure that the automatic test procedure does
a test of all the parameters given in this procedure.
g Make sure that the test set is in correct condition.

h Connect the test antenna to the test set.
i Put the test antenna in position in the line of sight of the ATC1 (2)
bottom antenna only.
NOTE: For the test of the ATC 2 function, you must use the TCAS
antennas (not the ATC 2 antennas).
j On the center pedestal, on one MCDU, get the Landing Gear Control
and Interface Unit (LGCIU) 1 (2) page and simulate a flight condition,
refer to Ref. AMM Task 32-69-00-860-001.
NOTE: It is not necessary to do again the flight configuration

precautions with electrical power.
k Push the line key adjacent to the NOSE+LH+RH FLIGHT indication.
NOTE: Simulation of flight automatically stops after a period of

time (approximately 5 min.). When the aircraft goes back
to ground configuration, the bottom antennas no longer
transmit squitters.
l On the center pedestal, on the ATC/TCAS control unit:

- Start the ATC system 1 (2)

- Set the ATC code 7776, or a different code given by your local
authorities, to keep the traffic interference to a minimum
- Set the ALT RPTG/ON/OFF switch to ON
- Set the AUTO/ON/STBY switch to AUTO.
m Remove the safety clip(s) and/or tag(s) and close/unlock this (these)
circuit breaker(s):

(1)Make sure that the aircraft is on ground.
(2)Open the door on the face of the T/TISS computer.
(3)Put the Compact Flash card in its related slot.
(a)Make sure that the side of the card that has the part numbers is on the same side as the LED
panel.
(b)Align the card with the slot and push in firmly.

(4)The T/TISS computer starts again: all the LEDs come on.
(5)All LEDs go off and the DATA STATUS LED comes on green:
·the computer reads the Compact Flash card for approximately one minute.
(6)The DATA STATUS LED flashes:
·the computer is loading the contents of the Compact Flash card for more than 17 minutes.
(7)When the upload is completed, the DATA STATUS LED comes on green.
(8)When the upload is satisfactory, push the eject pushbutton and remove the Compact Flash card.

(2) GENERAL information
The SB Reporting policy is published in ISI 00.00.00135. This document provides
information regarding: the SB Reporting means and benefits, the update of
customized Maintenance Products and customized Flight Operations Products.
If this Service Bulletin has an operational impact, refer to paragraph "Flight Operations
Products" for further information on the update of affected Flight Operations Products.
(3) SB Reporting procedure
Standard practice to report SB is to use the online reporting application on
AirbusWorld.
