QUESTIONS TO PONDER
1. If you will be given a chance to be in an exchange student program with an aim to learn
the educational system and culture of a certain country, what would it be and why?
Studying abroad is one of the best ways a graduate student like me can gain the
international experience necessary to succeed in today's global educational workforce. It
prepares students to be real contributors to working across borders to address key issues
in the world we share.
If I will be given an opportunity, I would like to enroll in the student exchange
program in Japan. The best way to become proficient in Japanese is on a student exchange
program in Japan. Most study-abroad programs require a minimal knowledge of Japanese;
some require two or three years of previous study. There are programs, however, for
students with no prior study of the language. Student exchange programs to Japan
typically allow participants to discover what it is like to live with a host family and attend
a Japanese school with Japanese peers. A Japanese exchange program may be an ideal
opportunity to experience a life-changing adventure. It will be an amazing experience to
personally understand their culture and practices that will help in my teaching profession.

2. As an educator, what area of Philippine education system would you like to improve by
the help of international education?
Learning with a global perspective ensures learners are exposed to different
cultures, ethnic groups, religions, and languages, enriching society in the process, and
broadening the academic experience for everyone. With the growing focus on
technological advancements in education, I would like to help the learners to increase
mindfulness of students’ cultural awareness and fostering their understanding and
appreciation of those who come from a different background to their own. Sometimes we
neglect our own culture and history.

 With the help of international education, we can identify best practices of other
countries of building concrete understanding of ones’ cultures of several different races in
an educational system. It helps learners to become better citizens and show their love for
their own culture.
