Good morning my friends and my lecturer madam stella. Today allow me to introduce our group.

This is
rahman, yulianti, muslimah, meivento, ervie (absent today), and me Kartika. We will present our
discussion about geopolymer: concrete without cement Ok, for the first will be tell by my friend
rahman firdaus

1. Thank you tika

well, my friend I will tell you about the discoverer of geopolymer. The discoverer of geopolymer
was Joseph Davidovits. Joseph Davidovits (born 1935) is a French materials scientist who has
posited that the blocks of the Great Pyramid are not carved stone but mostly a form of
limestone concrete. From 1982 his career encompassed academic research in universities in
both Europe and America; the promotion of geopolymers in industry, through his Geopolymer
Institute in the textile center of Saint-Quentin, France, and his archaeological studies.
That’s all about the discoverer of geopolymer, next by muslimah.

2. Thank you rahman.

Friend, I will tell you about what is geopolymer. Geopolymer is a chain or network of mineral-
bound molecule with a covalent bond. Geopolymer technology can be used as substitute for
Portland cement. geopolymer derived from
fly ash
more resistant to corrosion salt solution, very strong, resistant to freezing, and resistant to
heating to 600 ° C. Geopolymer concrete is relatively no such shrinkage of Portland cement
concrete. geopolymer cement resistance against the acidic environment caused by the
formation of a layer of gypsum crystals in the corroded layer. Geopolymer also energy efficient
and environmentally friendly because geopolimerisasi only requires heating at a relatively low
temperature. That’s all about the geopolymer, next by yuli.

3. Thank you musy

I will tell you about when did geopolymer introduced. Geopolymer was discovered about 70’s. It
is true that 1300 years after the great pyramids, agglomerated stone, geopolymer stone was
again being used. After all these years, the worship of the god and initiation into his mysterious
technology had not been forgotten. The greatest Egyptian scientist-architect-scribe, Amenophis
Son of Hapu (1437-1356 B.C.), eminence grise of the pharaoh Amenhotep III, 18th Dynasty, re-
introduced it and used his alchemical (geopolymer) knowledge to build amazing statues made
out of quartzite with geosynthesis and geopolymerisation. And the heretical king Akhenaton,
son of Amenhotep III, did the same in order to rival the supremacy of Amun by forbidding
carved granite stone.

4. I will tell you about how can be geopolymer formed. Geopolimerisasi is a process that could
change the waste of industrial into a product containing aluminosilicate geopolymer with a high
mechanical strength. The Fly Ash as a result of coal burning industrial waste converted into
geopolymer that have more value. geopolimerisasi can be classified as inorganic
polycondensation reaction as a reaction formation of zeolites. Most of the synthesis of zeolite
was also performed in alkaline conditions using OH

5. I will tell you about the function of geopolymer. Concrete using geopolymer has many
advantages, such as environmentally friendly, strong, cheap, and durable. Geopolymer is made
of industrial waste material. the manufacture of geopolymer concrete can reduce greenhouse
gas emissions resulting from cement production process until the remaining 20%. Well, my
friend. Time is running up. That’s all that we can say today. Thank you for attention. Good
morning.
