CHALLENGE. A new co-worker has been hired. You are going to be the godfather. So, your first
task/homework is to explain how your company works (using the present simple), how the engines and
the parts of the engines are working in the current market (present continuous). Then, you will explain
to your co- worker, what you can do, what you are capable of, the advices you can give out/provide,
what`s forbidden and what is allowed. (modal verbs). Finally, your pupil/co-worker is going to speculate
about somethings that could happen in the workshop. (zero conditional)
hello godson.
This is a very good company; all the workers help each other from our strengths. We work with
gasoline, gas, diesel and electrified engines. It is a way of serving the current market and guarantee the
service to more public.
The employees try to handle all the parts of the engine, but Mario is good with the engine block and
crankcase, Julian is an expert with the crankshaft and the camshaft, I am good with the cylinders,
pistons and cylinder head.
2- HOW`S THE AUTOMOTIVE CURRENT MARKET WORKING? (ENGINE AND PARTS) (P. Continuous)
Continuing with the current normality, and improving the situation of the country, we believe the
demand for engines and spare parts will also continue to do so, remembering that Covid-19 is
significantly affecting all economies.
3- YOUR SKILL SET IN THE COMPANY/WORKSHOP
As I already told you, I am good with the cylinders, pistons and cylinder head, but I can attend
to any need that arises, you could do the same.
I think you should be attentive to helping your teammates, not just your strengths, that will help
you join the team.
You can go on vacation, but I'm not sure how long after you start.
you could improve your position in the company by demonstrating your skills.
a) If An engine breaks down and you can fix it, do it, but if you can’t, you should ask for help
b) If you lose parts in an engine, you must replace them.
c) you can prevent engine failure by doing constant maintenance.
