First, you’re going to listen to a dialogue between 2 characters:

1. Mr. Martinez, who wants to get a job.


2. The person who interviews someone for a job.

Listen to each line very carefully. Then, practice every dialogue with
a partner.

Remember that some of these dialogues can be useful in any job in-
terview that you have.

INTERVIEW

Good morning Mr. Martinez, how are you today?

I´m fine, thank you, and you?

We´re doing fine. Please, have a seat. Let´s start by you telling
me about yourself.

OK. I’m really interested in the position vacany that you posted on
the newspaper.

Do you have any experience on sales?

Yes, I do. I worked for two years as an advertising consultant.

Interesting. Can you tell me about your skills?

Of course. I have strong verbal and personal communication skills,
project management skills and I´m committed to company success.

What are your positive and negative traits?

The good ones: I’m a hard worker, I’m good at team working, I can
be a leader.
The negative ones: I don’t like working on weekends, I get bored
on meetings.

Do you know anything about this company?

Yes, of course, I visited some webpages on the internet and found


the history of the company and the growth in the last two years.

Very good! Do you have any questions about the position?

No, thank you. I don´t think so.

Ok, Mr. Martinez, thank you for your time. We will probably call
you in about a week.

Ok. I will be in touch, I´m really interested in the job.
