Assured Aviation Services - Head of Operations

Salary: Commensurate with skills and experience

Location: London Gatwick Airport

Overview
As a member of the senior management team, the Head of Operations will be primarily
responsible for the detailed performance and day-to-day ownership/leadership and management
of aircraft presentation services across the UK. While this is a senior management position, the
successful applicant will be expected to have a visible presence airside on a regular basis.

Main accountabilities
• Provide effective direction and leadership for the aircraft presentation business, building
a culture to deliver excellence.
• Delivering revenue and profit for each station and actively supporting the drive for new
business growth.
• Take the lead in the development and effective management of key customer relationships.
• Leads the creation and execution of specific performance improvement initiatives from
reducing cost to optimise efficiencies.
• Creating and delivering plans to drive performance and service improvement.
• Work closely with the financial and commercial business functions on specific projects and for
the aircraft presentation division.
• Develop and mentor the Aircraft Presentation management teams.
• Providing technical expertise for aircraft presentation within the wider Assured Aviation
network.
• Leads the development of "people" capability amongst the aircraft presentation team to ensure
both service excellence and resilience.
• Support the development and implementation of initiatives to enhance employee
engagement and employee recognition.
• Ensure adherence to the procedures and processes in order to maintain quality of service.
• Ensure all activities are compliant with the regulations as set out by governing bodies such
as HSE, CAA and EASA.
• Review and maintain oversight of current and future legislation / regulations to ensure business
relevancy, and that all related standards and recommendations are aligned with the most up-to-
date information.
• Representing the Company at industry and Customer meetings and events, as required.
• Liaise with key stakeholders in the business to further develop and maintain the organisation’s
aircraft presentation policies and procedures.
• Proactively support the Aircraft Presentation Operational Management teams to ensure
compliance with the Assured Aviation health, safety and security policies.
• Identifying cost saving initiatives and opportunities to increase 'margin' across the
aircraft presentation business.

Qualifications and experience:

• Proven experience in leading complex 24/7 aviation service operations.
• In-depth technical knowledge of aircraft presentation i.e. aircraft exterior washing and
aircraft cleaning. Knowledge of aircraft carpet installation procedures & regulations
would be preferable but not essential.
• Good commercial knowledge in aircraft presentation, with the ability to proactively support the
Commercial team in maintaining existing business, together with the winning of new business.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a high level of confidence to influence at all
levels.
• Excellent Leadership and organisational skills with ability to comfortably communicate at all
levels.
• Demonstrable track record in consistently delivering operational excellence and
business performance.
• Experience in services organisations where costs need to be tightly controlled and
service standards are high.
• Successful leadership of change and performance improvement initiatives.
