Job Description:
Position Overview and Responsibilities:
The Asset manager will be an integrator for the day-to-day operations and performance of the
company’s existing assets. He or she will be responsible for the field plan for accountable assets,
safe management, and optimization of production, overseeing the integration of all activities
relating to accountable assets.
Scope of role:
Accountable for the management of all activity relating to:
Company’s OPEX and CAPEX Annual Budgets
Leadership and management of employees and oversight of contractors.
Two mature assets with infrastructure and reliability needs.
Reporting Line
This role reports to the Managing Director.
Key Duties:
General Management
• Carry overall and full profit and loss responsibility for asset group, e.g. delivery of budget
and financial targets.
• Take asset group decisions, within authority limits, in an often uncertain and ambiguous
environment.
• Integrate services provided by both Technical and Growth Directorate functions into daily
operations.
• Own, develop, and integrate the life of field plan for accountable assets.
Safety and Asset Integrity
• Deliver production volumes as per the individual asset, business, and work plans within
budget as applicable.
• Optimize production reliability.
• Coordinate execution of operational functions (e.g. Maintenance and Turnaround
Programs).
• Ensure that the asset is working “in the box” at all times and optimize performance within
defined envelopes.
• Ensure effective project delivery and Operational Readiness & Assurance such that the
asset is ready to operate.
• Ensure integrity and production loss threats are understood and mitigated.
• Integrate operations perspectives to develop an overall asset plan.
• Support and coordinate development of asset group business plan e.g. assumptions.
• Own the fife of field plan and coordinate and deploy life of field strategies (e.g. with Growth
function)
• Optimize asset planning, from medium-term activity plans to daily planning (e.g. making
trade-offs on bed space).
Commercial and Other
• A good understanding of how the oil and gas value chain works, including business profit
and loss. Leading with major project interfaces.
• Knowledge of the Nigerian oil and gas regulations.
General Experience required:
• Substantial oil and gas experience both offshore and technical. Experience leading teams
in a volatile environment. Proven ability to manage safety in a hazardous environment.
• Experienced Asset Manager with mature oil experience. Proven ability to turn business
results around. Change management experience.
General intelligence:
• Must be able to make tough business decisions, with good business risk awareness.
• Ability to get the best out of people to deliver results. Good written and oral communication.
The ability to be decisive by making well thought through timely decisions.
