Subject: Literacy

Lesson Tittle: phonogram ai, ay, a-e, ie, i, y, igh.

Duration: 35 minutes

Learning objectives: At the end of the lesson, the child should


be able to:

a. Differentiate words with the different phonograms

b. spell and write words with the phonograms correctly.

Entry behavior: The child is familiar with consonant blend, four


letter words and pink phrases and sentences and some word
containing these phonograms.

Resource material: Word chart.

Content: phonogram ai, ay, a-e, ie, i, y, igh, make different


sounds in words like:

ai ay a-e ie i y igh

said pay cake pie bike fly night

paid day bake tie ride cry light

Strategies:
Step 1: The directress introduces the topic.

Step 2: she write the different phonograms on the board and


write words containing each of the phonograms

Step 3: The directress explain to the child their spelling


differences.

Step 4: She encourage the child to mention words with the


phonograms.

Step 5: The directress explain further for the child using


different words as examples.

Evaluation/Assessment: classwork and assignment.

Subject: Numeracy

Lesson Tittle: Fill in the box subtraction.

Duration: 35 minutes

Learning objectives: At the end of the lesson, the child should


be able to:

a. To do simple subtraction using fill in the box


b. Know the value of numbers while subtracting
c. Identify the symbol (-) as a subtraction sign.

Entry behaviour: The child is familiar with number 1- 400, (+


and -) symbol.

Resource material: number chart. Mathematical symbols.

Content: Find the missing number:

- 8 = 16

- 3 = 12

17 - =9

15 - =5

- 11 =7

Strategies:
Step 1: The directress introduce the topic

Step 2: She write examples on the board.

Step 3: She explain to the child how to subtract numbers by


counting the bigger number and taking away the smaller
number and then count the remaining number.

Step 4: The directress calls out the child to try some exercise on
the board.

Step 5: She correct the child and explain further.

Evaluation/Assessment: Classwork and homework.

Subject: Cultural studies

Lesson Tittle: Common tools.

Duration: 35 minutes

Learning objectives: At the end of the lesson, the child should


be able to:

a. To say what common tools are and their uses.

b. Identify different common tools

Entry behaviour: The child is familiar with common tools


found in schools and at home.

Resource material: cutleries, sharpners, scissors, rulers, etc.

Content: Common tools are tools we have at home or school


which help us to carry out our day to day activities. Examples
of common tools are: spoons, forks, knives, scissors, rulers,
makers, etc.
Strategies:

Step 1: The directress introduce the topic

Step 2: She write examples on the board.

Step 3: She explain to the child different uses of each tool.

Step 4: The directress explain to child how these tools help us


in doing our daily work

Step 5: The child contribute by mentioning more things they


think is common tools.

Evaluation/Assessment: Name 4 common tools you know? 2.

Lesson Tittle: Small Hexagonal box

Duration: 35 minutes

Learning objectives: At the end of the lesson, the child will be


able to:

a. Combine two or more triangles to form another shapes

b. To introduce the child to geometry

c. To give the child an opportunity to experiment with shapes

Entry behaviour: The child is familiar with constructive


triangle box 1.

Resource material: Small hexagonal box.

Content: Two red equilateral triangles with a black line along


one side. Three green equilateral triangles with black lines etc.

Strategies:
Step 1: The directress introduce the topic

Step 2: She invites the child to the work area

Step 3: She show the child how to work with the material

Step 4: The directress encourages the child to try the exercise

Step 5: She corrects the child by work again with the material

Lesson Tittle: Cutting with scissors

Duration: 35 minutes

Learning objectives: At the end of the lesson, the child will be


able to:

a. learn how to hold a scissors while cutting

b. To introduce the child to safety while holding a sharp object

c. To give the child an opportunity to be creative in art work

Entry behaviour: The child is familiar with paper materials

Resource material: Scissors, papers. Cardboard.

Content: Scissors is a sharp object, therefore we have to handle


it with care to avoid injuring our self or people around us.

Strategies:
Step 1: The directress introduce the topic

Step 2: She invites the child to the work area.

Step 3: She show the child how to hold the scissors with the
pins grip

Step 4: She show the child how to cut in shapes or sizes

Step 5: The directress encourages the child to try the exercise

Step 6: She corrects the child by work again with the material
