Application and Cure Conditions
The primer was applied with a bar coater on degreased cold rolled steel test panels to a dry film thickness of 80 microns.
Curing was at room temperature for seven days prior to testing in hot salt spray according to ASTM B117 for 240 hours.

Test Results
The SHIELDEX® AC 5 containing primer shows reduced blistering and rust formation at the scribe compared to a zinc
phosphate containing primer. It reaches the same level of anti-corrosion performance as a primer containing zinc chro-
mate. Considering all formulation advice, it can be clearly seen that blister formation can be completly suppressed by
SHIELDEX® AC 5.
