It is true that government spending is always a controversial topic in

society.
It is true that traffic congestion is a perennial problem in many cities.
Despite some benefits of funding for train and subway lines, I believe that it
is better for the government to invest in road infrastructure.
Admittedly, investing in train and subway lines has several benefits.
 The availability and reliablity of public transport will obvitate the need
to drive -> reduce traffic on main roads -> to ease traffic congestion.
 In emerging countries, traffic -> a mare. Be held back in traffic for
hours on the road. Roads are … (Vietnam, Hanoi).
 In developed countries such as Russia, England (Moscow, London)
where people have easy and convenient access to the underground
-> traffic gridlock
However, I believe that it is more beneficial to build more and wider roads.

In conclusion, I firmly hold the view that road infrastructure is more

important than train and subway lines in reducing traffic congestion. The
question is left for the authorities to decide which one is more effective for
their cities.
