LEARNING STANDARDS
C At the end of the lesson, some pupils will be able to listen and identify rhyming words correctly.
Encourage them to create their own rhyming sentences with like/don’t like in
pairs/small groups.
Encourage the use of but or and if suitable.
Go around the class to check their work before they write a final draft.
If time, have pupils draw a picture to illustrate their rhymes/chants.
Pair/Groups present their rhymes/chants to the class.
1. Display pictures from previous lessons and sentence cards on the board.
