PART I. PHONETICS
- Identify the corresponding consonants or vowels (as described).
- Present the terms of in phonetics, such as acoustic phonetics, auditory phonetics,
articu;atory, names of articulators, a segment, a phone, english consonants and vowels;
- Find out the words to show the differences between spelling and pronunciation;
- Describe the consonants in the words given and fill in five columms of the chart: voicing,
place of articulation, manner of articulation, nasal or oral and central or lateral;
- Compare the careful speech and rapid speech pronunciation of the sound sequences, name
the coaticlatory process that makes the rapid speech pronunciation different from the careful
speech in each case given, explain why these processes happen.
