II. MODULE CONTENT

Introduction

Electron Drift Velocity

III. LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:

1. Understand electron drift velocity;

2. Comprehend the charge velocity and velocity of field propagation;
3. Understand the idea of electric potential;
4. Identify resistance and its unit and laws; and
5. Identify the unit of resistivity.

IV. GRADUATE ATTRIBUTES

Recognizing the impacts of these theories on the real world would produce graduates with an
unquestionable Life-long learning.
V. TEACHING LEARNING ACTIVITIES

1. Calculate the resistance of 100 m length of a wire having a uniform cross-sectional area of 0.1 mm2 if
the wire is made of manganin having a resistivity of 50 × 10−8 Ω-m. If the wire is drawn out to three
times its original length, by how many times would you expect its resistance to be increased?
2. A lead wire and an iron wire are connected in parallel. Their respective specific resistances are in the
ratio 49:24. The former carries 80 per cent more current than the latter and the latter is 47 per cent
longer than the former. Determine the ratio of their cross-sectional area.

VI. ASSESSMENT TOOLS

Rubrics:
Organization of Idea 50%
Accuracy of Language 25%
Precise Vocabulary 25%
100%

VII. ASSIGNMENT

Research on the post-harvest handling of grains and pulses. Submit your output through my email or
messenger account stating your complete name, year and program enrolled-in.

The activity number together with your complete name, year level and program enrolled should be indicated on
the subject of the email. (Activity 1-MABALOT, MCLIN JHON MARAVE 3 rd Year BTLED). A deduction
