A maintenance programme is provided
with the purchase of the truck. The
programme is based on truck type,
driving conditions, oil grades, etc., and is
unique to each truck. If the conditions

Care of steel rims
Steel rims are often exposed to different
types of dirt such as road dirt, oil,
asphalt, tar and brake dust. To protect
the rims from discolouration, oxidisation
and unnecessary wear, regular
maintenance is required. For additional
protection a protective wax must be
used, e.g. when driving is slush, salted
roads or environments close to the sea.
Damage to the rim's paint must be
remedied immediately to prevent
corrosion.
Clean the rims regularly. First flush with
water, preferably using a high pressure
washer. Use a brush or sponge to clean
the rim.
For stubborn dirt, an alkaline cleaning
agent (pH>7) may be used.

battery kept at room temperature will
need charging more often.
The alternator in the truck can never
charge the battery to 100%. Good
conditions will give a 90-95% degree
charge. To attain a full charge, the
battery must be charged at a higher
voltage than normal. A full charge can
only be obtained with a battery charger

a current that is 8-12% of the batteries

The susceptibility to charge drops with
temperature. A battery at -20°C can only
take 1/10 of the current compared with
one at 25°C. Poor charge susceptibility
combined with short trips is the main
reason for battery problems in cold
weather.

Brake system
Air drier, general
The air drier removes moisture and oil
from the compressed air that could
otherwise lead to malfunctions.
The air drier itself is cleaned by pumping

this is carried out.
The compressor may need several
working cycles to clean and dry the filter.
This is completely normal.

Warning signs and first-aid
The truck has two warning triangles. The
warning triangles are located in the
storage compartment behind the left-
hand seat. Some trucks also have first
aid kit, warning flares and warning vest.

Stopping on the road

Use the warning vest and warning
triangle if the truck stops on a busy road
due to a technical fault.
The warning triangle must be positioned
at least 200 metres behind the truck. Use
the vest. Think about safety. Moving
around a stationary truck on a busy road
is highly dangerous. Do not take any
unnecessary risks.
