ETABS Model 3-D View PLAN View It is not recommended to provide shear wall thickness over 450 mm rather we
increase no of shear walls in severe earthquake zones as in zone 3. Detailing
requirements are also changes from zone to zone .

Conclusions
 Earthquake Resistant design of RCC building on ETABS is fast & easy
while doing this practice manually will be time consuming and
chances of errors are more but manual calculations can be made to
counter check the design.
 We can easily check the behavior of specific structural member in
different seismic zones.
 More no of Shear wall may require in severe seismic zones to
overcome large amount of base shear.
 Output from ETABS is easy to understand and to transfer information
for the preparation of structural drawings and rough estimate of cost
can de made.
 Compatibility of ETABS and SAFE made it possible to design the
substructure and slabs in a quick way.
