Perception of the Students about the Implementation of ISO in DJAPMNHS

THE PROBLEM AND ITS SETTING

Introduction

ISO stands for something International Standard Organization or ISO but it also called

International Organization for Standardization. ISO 9001 introduce 1987 and was derived from

British standard BS 5750. Its designation as an ISO standard means it is truly international and

it’s based on input from their word wide network of 159 national standard institute, it was

established on February 23, 1987, London, United Kingdom. The head of ISO/IOS is John Walter

he was elected in year 2017. ISO ensure that the product and the service is safe, reliable and of

good quality for business, they are struggle tools that reduce cause by minimizing waste and

errors and increasing productivity. Published specific guidelines for organization in the education

sector washing to benefit from the implementation of ISO 9001:2000, the latest improve version

of ISO’s quality management system standard that have been adopted by more than half a million

user in all sector worldwide.

This year many of the school pursue the implementation of ISO certificate because of the

improvement of the school. The strategy of the school is to make or raise a fund to make their

school improve of anything to make the school more reliable to place in or be safe for the people

that sink in or past in the building. Reducing the specification of limits, improving the online

quality control to bring the specified units closer to the target and inspection of more samples in

order to find the defective products before they reach the customer have been widely practiced in

controlling the quality of the various products. But such exercises are, often not considered as

good option since they address the symptoms and not the root cause of the problems. Many

experimental designs have been demonstrated in the field of experimental statistic for

characterization and optimization of various design factors. Typically the performance of any

process or product is affected by a multitude of factor. Since every performance cannot be

predicted by theory, experimentation of photo typing is resorted for empirical optimization of the

various process and products before lunch. Quality engineering requires systematic

There are more than 21000 ISO Standard are available. However, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001

are most generic ISO standard; it can be applicable for any types of business or organization. As

for today there are 21740 published ISO Standard. Implementing an effective and robust ISO

9001 quality management system (QMS) will help you to focus on the important areas of your

business and improve efficiency. The management processes that are established throughout your

business will provide a sound foundation, leading to increase productivity and profit. ISO 9001

certified has lots of benefits to corporation. Having more quality products will also help you gain

more costumer or student in a school.

Most of the schools have strategies for the ISO implementation outlining what to do when

the ISO implementation take place. Unfortunately, not all schools follow the rules for the ISO

implementation because they don’t have enough funds for the implementation.

Last December 7, 2018, the Soft Launching was held at Dr. Juan A. Pastor Memorial

National High School. The principal together with the city mayor and others were united to

disseminate the purpose of ISO implementation. Different fund raising occurred such as “The

Walk for ISO: 9001:2015,” wherein administrators, teachers, students, parents and alumni of the

school bought T-shirt. Aside from this “BINGO for ISO” was also conducted. This change seems

to be rapid and not everyone understands the benefit of the implementation of ISO in the school.

Thus, in this study, the researchers will find out the perception or point of view of the students

with the implementation of ISO in DJAPMNHS.

Statement of the Problem

This study aims to determine the perception of the students in the Implementation of ISO

at Dr. Juan A, Pastor Memorial National High School Department with the end view of helping

the student to cope up with the changes and to contribute in the improvement of the school.

Specifically, it will seek answer to the following questions:

Scope, Delimitation and Limitation of the Study

This study focused on the perception of students the implementation of ISO in Dr. Juan

A. Pastor Memorial National High School.

Specifically, it included the advantages and disadvantages of ISO implementation and its

effectiveness in terms of improvement of facilities, production of the resources, quality of service

and teaching-learning goals. The junior high school students of DJAPMNHS were used as

respondents of this study.

The descriptive method of research was utilized in this study. The data valuable for the

realization of this study were gathered through the use of library technique and questionnaire.

Significance of the Study

The primary purpose of this study is to determine the perception of students about the

perception of the students about the ISO implementation in DJAPMNHS. The result of this study

is essential and beneficial to the following: administrators, teachers, parents, students, researchers

and future researchers.

For the administrators, this may help them to realize if the implementation of ISO will be

beneficial for the students because students were seemed to be the customer of the school.

For the teachers, this may guide them to elaborate the purpose of ISO to the students.

For the parents, this may serve as a motivation for them in supporting the school in

implementation of ISO.

For the students, this may encourage them to support the school and this may help in self-

realization with the advantages and disadvantages of ISO.

For the researchers, this may serve as an aid for them in having self-realization as they

were also benefited with the implementation of ISO.

For future researchers, this study may inspire them to pursue their interests to

broaden their knowledge and to strive harder to be able to come up with a better study

with more factual and reliable concept. This also served as a reliable foundation of

information for the reason that results gathered were conceptualized through the

experience of the respondents.

Definition of Terms

ISO- The International Organization for Standardization is an international standard-

setting body composed of representatives from various national standards organizations.

Founded on 23 February 1947, the organization promotes worldwide proprietary,

industrial and commercial standards.

PERCEPTION- is the process of getting, interpreting, selecting, and organizing sensory

information. It includes the collection of data from sense organs through to the

interpretation made by the brain.

IMPLEMENTATION-  the process for putting a design, plan or policy into effect. Tool,

any physical item that can be used to achieve a goal. Farm implement, machinery

used in agriculture.

ADVANTAGES - is a superiority that a firm has over its rivals that creates greater profits. A

superiority gained by an organization when it can provide the same value as

its competitorsbut at a lower price, or can charge higher prices by providing greater value

through differentiation. Competitive advantage results from matching core competencies to

the opportunities.

DISADVANTAGES- an unfavorable circumstance or condition that reduces the chances

of success or effectiveness.

PREDICTED- stated or estimated as likely to happen in the future; forecast.

A prediction is what someone thinks will happen. A prediction is a forecast, but not

only about the weather. Pre means “before” and “diction” has to do with talking. So

a prediction is a statement about the future. It's a guess, sometimes based on facts or

evidence, but not always.

IMPROVEMENT- an example or instance of improving or being improved. A result of

"Sufficiently Qualified" means that you have met or exceeded the standard on this tool.

To meet the standard you must answer 65% of the items correctly. A result of "Needs

Improvement" means that you have answered less than 65% of the items correctl

PRODUCTION- the action of making or manufacturing from components or raw

materials, or the process of being so manufactured. the process of or financial and

administrative management involved in making a movie, play, or record. is a process of

combining various material inputs and immaterial inputs (plans, know-how) in order to

make something for consumption (the output). It is the act of creating output, a good or

service which has value and contributes to the utility of individuals.

NETWORK- an arrangement of intersecting horizontal and vertical lines. a group or

system of interconnected people or things. A network is defined as a group of two or

more computer systems linked together. There are many types of computer networks,

including the following: local-area networks (LANs): The computers are geographically

close together (that is, in the same building).

STRUGGLE- make forceful or violent efforts to get free of restraint or constriction. a

forceful or violent effort to get free of restraint or resist attack. to try very hard to do,

achieve, or deal with something that is difficult or that causes problems. : to move with

difficulty or with great effort. : to try to move yourself, an object, etc., by making a lot of

effort.

RESEARCH METHOD

This chapter deals with the methods and procedures utilized by the researchers.

This presents the study’s research design, respondents of the study, data gathering

instrument and data gathering procedure employed.

Research Design

This study, qualitative in nature, will utilize the descriptive method of research as it

determines the present condition taking place in a particular situation. This method will be used

to gather the needed information and data on the preparedness of barangay police (tanod) in terms

of duties and responsibilities and personal gain in selected barangay in Ibaan, Batangas.

Subjects of the Study

The subjects of this study are the Junior High School students, one respondent for each

level. Since this is a qualitative research, it does not require any sampling method or formula for

determining the number of participants.

Data Gathering Instrument

The researchers utilized library technique and face-to-face interview to gather the

information needed.

Library technique is a method which is defined as systematic study and investigation of some

aspect of library and information science where conclusions are based on the analysis of data

collected in accordance with pre-established research designs and methodologies (HLWIKI

International 2017).

Face-to-face interview is a data collection method when the interviewer directly communicates

with the respondent in accordance with the prepared questionnaire. This method ensures the

quality of the obtained data and increases the response rate (www.spinter.com).

Data Gathering Procedure

The researchers will conduct the data collecting by identifying the informants. For ethical

considerations, they will approach the informants and will explain to them the nature of this

study. The researchers will ask permission to get them as informants. They will then conduct the

interview. Internet-based sources will also be used as well as library resources.

Researcher: Ano ang iyong pagkakaalam o pagkakaintindi sa kahulugan nang ISO?

Respondent 1: sa totoo lang po hindi ko po alam ang tunay na kahulugan nang ISO pero

ang aking pag kakaintindi po ay ito ay para sa shool namin upang makaipon nang

pondo upang mapaayos ang aming mga silid aralan.

Respondent 2: sa akin pong palagay ito ay para sa school upang maging kaayaya

pasukan at para na din po makasabay sa ibang paaralan na moderno na po.

Respondent 3: Sa akin pong palagay ito ay para sa pagpapaayos nang aming paaralan.

Based on the answer of respondent 1, he stated that he didn’t what ISO is all

about, what he understood about it , the school needed to raise fund to renovate their

classroom. Respondent 2 said that in his opinion ISO is for making the facility better to

cope up with the modernization. Lastly, respondent 3 said that this ISO is for innovating

the school facilities.

namin estudyante ay upang makaipon nang pondo para sa pag papaayos nang mga

silid o gusali sa paaralan.

2.2; siguro po ang “disadvantage” nang ISO ay mahihirapan ag bawat isa upang

makaisip nang kung papaano makakaisip nang paghahanapan nang pondo.

2.2; Ang “disadvantage” nang ISO ay lahat ay magbabago sa paaralan

lalo na sa mga bagay na kinakailangan tulad nang sa pagtatapon nang basura.

Respondent 3:2.1; Ang “advantage” po nito ay maisasaayos ang mga dapat ayusin at

kumpunihin.

2.2; siguro po ang “disadvantage’ nito ay kung papaano sila hahanap nang pondo

upang maging maayos ang paaralan.

Based on the Respondent 1 he started that the advantage of the ISO ti student

like him is ti raise fund for the renovation of facilities and classroom and the dis

advantage of ISO for him is how will the teachers and staff of the school will think in

how to raise the fund that they needed. Then respopndent 2 said that the advantage of

the ISO is to make the school facilities be more realible to school in and the

disadvantage of this is all of the rules will be more strick like throwing garbages. Finally ,

according to respondent 3 the advantage of this is to fix what are going to fix and the

disadvanatage is how will they think of the way to raise a fund for the renovation.

Based on the respondent 1 he said that in all of the terms it will effective in

Improvement of Facilities,Production of the Resources,Quality Service,Teaching-Learning Goals.

Then the respondent 2 said that may be it will be effective in terms of Improvement of facilities

and in Teaching-Learning Goals, will be most effective in terms of Production of the

Resources,Quality Service. Lastly, according to Respondent 3 that may it wil not be effective in

all the terms, because it hard to get the fund to ake the renovation f the school facilities

This study aims to determine the role of discipline in school and classroom

encountered by the students in Dr Juan A. Pastor Memorial National High School.

Specifically it will seek answers to the following questions:

This research study made use of descriptive method with the researcher made interview.

This involves 15 students in the Dr.Juan A. Pastor Memorial National High School.

Findings of the study

1.Profile of the Respondents

1.1.Age. Students with the age range from 12-16. It manifests that still majority of the

respondents were the students who are the focal point of this study.

1.2. Gender. Most of the respondents were female which the total population of 8 out of 12.

There were only 4 out of 12 who belong to the male gender and it comparises. Thus, this

reflects that majority of the respondents are female.

It is iportant that the perception of the student about the implimentation of the ISO in the

school must be discuss to know the cahnges of the school ang how it goes. ISO helps to This

year many of the school pursue the implementation of ISO certificate because of the

improvement of the school. The strategy of the school is to make or raise a fund to make their
