HOMOGENOUS EQUATION
Definition of Homogenity

The function f(x,y) is said to be homogenous of degree k in x and y if and only if

f(λx, λy) = λk f(x,y)

If M and N in Eq. 1 are both homogenous, functions and are of the same degree in x and y,
Eq.1 may be in the form.

dy y
+g(x)=0
dx

Then solve the equation by letting y=vx or x=vy

Note: Substitute for the variable whose differential has simpler coefficient. This will transform Eq.
1 into an Equation in which the variables are separable.
