EXACT DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS

When a differential equation`

M(x,y)dx + N(x,y) dy = 0 – (Equation 1)

Such that;

dF = Mdx + Ndy

then 1 is an exact differential equation and its solution is:

F (x, y) = C

Since: dF = dx+ dy

When: M = N=

and = =

hence: =

Which is a requirement in order that 1 maybe an exact equation.
