SUBSTITUTION SUGGESTED BY THE EQUATION

A. Equation of the Form Mdx + Ndy =0

May not yield at once (or at all) to the methods previously discussed even then the usefulness
of those methods is not exhausted. It may be possible by some change of the variable to transform
the solution into a type that we know how to solve.

A natural source of suggestion for useful transformations is the differential equation itself. If
a particular function of one or both variable stands but in the equation then it is worthwhile to
examine the equation after the function has been introduced as a new variable.
