1. What are the Lessons learned in this story?

I would like to define first smallpox and its background, smallpox is a diseases that is mainly caused by
the Variola virus. This virus is infectious and is also termed as communicable and can basically spread
person to person and may spread to an animal too. However, this virus targets humans and animals are
not viable to catch the smallpox. The lesson I learned in this story is that, way back into their times it
was really a disaster that they faced the smallpox because in lined with the immunologic treatment, the
medical practice and the health care it was really hard to adopt and treat the patients who are infected
for they only have a limited or shall I say the scarcity to attend to the vaccines and on how to fully
eradicate the spread. I think I fully understand on the delay and the years passed that the virus has been
spreading rapidly due to the demand of the vaccines. The vaccination was published or put into setting
at around 1799 and to conduct the mass production was at late 1950s, so I think it was really hard to
putting the state or country to a smallpox free in those times. I have learned how medical technology,
medical informatics, the global health setting and the practice to medicine really empowered the global
health society into the practical setting. I believe that Medicine was also termed as “practice” because
the medical information is always updating or innovating to further improve and work efficient in this
Global health society.

2. Will CoviD 19 be another story like smallpox?

I think for me, Covid 19 is another story that arrived to us in this modern era. Covid 19 and smallpox in
some ways they are similar, but I have learned that smallpox is one the deadliest virus in human history.
When I was understanding Covid 19, to deliver a vaccine will be a time consuming phase because the
spread of infection is still rapidly increasing and new variants are slowly being discovered and that is why
eradication of this virus is a question to the country and to the global health.

3. How can we end this pandemic?

Covid 19 is a serious pandemic and one of the most dangerous disasters that the world has encountered
in our life. This is enhanced to all human crisis and accompanied with elevated health and socio-
economic consequences. I think we cannot basically end this pandemic, Covid is everywhere, and I
believe to end this pandemic, is basically discipline to ourselves and get vaccinated and follow the basic
precautions to diminished cases of covid 19 and the spread person to person. Once we have faced this
pandemic, there will be really instances to track back and to put in mind such disease emerged and
spread its disaster so rapidly across the globe, and how these put into crisis. The lessons that we have
learned through this pandemic will be essential to how we end this pandemic and may address in the
future. I just want to say that now is the time for unity and discipline to further international community
to process or work together in harmony to basically slowly end this pandemic and its destructive
consequences.
4. Is vaccine the solution to Covid 19?

For me the first line of solution is basically the discipline and the unity to the basic precautions in
relation to Covid 19. Second is only the vaccine for me, because there are individuals who gets
vaccinated and still be infected by Covid. That is why for me, the basic solution to this pandemic is the
basic precautions, the facemask, face shields, alcohol, handwashing, staying at home, and supplements
will really get rid of the virus and specially get vaccinated. In the end we can solve this pandemic by just
following the covid 19 precautions and simply get vaccinated. As health care providers, we are the
teachers to the community to follow and abide the rules and regulations, the protocols and the
vaccination to the people.

5. Can we eradicate SARS Cov 2 like smallpox

Yes. I simply can say, that we can eradicate SARS Cov 2 just like the smallpox and compared the duration
of the eradication of smallpox to covid 19, I think this covid 19 will be eradicated ahead of time
compared to the smallpox which had a very hundreds and thousands of years that it was fully
eradicated. This pandemic that we are facing I believe that this will be eradicated just by disciplining
ourselves and get vaccinated. To eradicate this covid, researchers had been deeply doing their best and
although it would face a lot of challenges and disasters but I believe SARS Cov 2 will be eradicated
sooner. We are now eradicating Covid that this means reducing the global cases to zero and by
enhancing the intervention measures, besides we don’t have the exact year or how uncertain this
eradication will end.
