Term 1: Internet Of Things (IoT)

Internet of Things refer to a network of

interconnected devices that share data over the
internet. These devices can interact with each other
without any human intervention and can be remotely
controlled and monitored. Data collected by these
devices are analyzed and is desired information can be
extracted from them for relevant purposes.

Major components of IoT are:

Future of IoT:
With Industry 4.0 around the corner,
the future of IoT seems limitless. Tech
analyst company IDC predicts that in
total there will be 41.6 billion
connected IoT devices by 2025.

Term 4: Block Chain

Blockchain, sometimes referred to as Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), makes a history of any
digital asset unalterable and transparent through the use of decentralization and cryptographic
hashing.
1. What is a block?
Every chain consists of multiple blocks and each
block has three basic elements:
• The data in the block.
• A 32-bit whole number called a nonce which
is randomly generated.
• The hash which is a 256-bit number wedded
to the nonce.
2. What are nodes?
Nodes can be any kind of electronic device that
maintains copies of the blockchain and keeps the
network functioning.
Every node has its own copy of the blockchain and the network must algorithmically approve a newly mined block
for the chain to be updated, trusted and verified.
3. What is mining?
Miners create new blocks on the chain through a process called mining. Every block has its own unique nonce and
hash along with reference of the hash of the previous block in the chain. Miners use special software to solve the
incredibly complex math problem of finding a nonce that generates an accepted hash. When a block is successfully
mined, the change is accepted by all of the nodes on the network and the miner is rewarded financially.
