    Practical 3: To study the factors that affect the rate of enzyme reaction

    Explore the Lactase Enzyme Simulation (virtual lab) using the following website:

    Aims:

    1. To investigate the effect of various factors on the rate of enzyme reaction

    2. To determine the best factor combination that produce the highest rate of enzyme
    (lactase) reaction.

    Write a report on the effect of each factor on the rate of lactase reaction. The report
    should consist of the following:

     Aim
     Hypothesis
     Variables
     Procedure (refer to ‘Experimental Setup’ as a guide; in passive voice)
     Results (attach screenshot from the simulation)
     Discussion
     Conclusion

    * You do not have to explore Vmax.

    Answer all the ‘Questions to explore’

    Write your reflections on what you learn in Practical 3 and the importance of enzyme.
