Location of use: Everywhere • Shape Type: Roll

• Features: Non-sticky,
• The drywall of the theatre is shaped in a pattern fire safe, easy to
to increase sound reflection from the desktops to install, flexible and
the players for the ultimate gaming experience.
non-combustible
• Complemented by acoustic metal panels, the
walls also prevent flutter echoes as it eliminates
the parallelity of walls on flanking sides.
• The Rockwool foam layer inside the drywall acts
as a sound absorber by inducing resonance with
the sound waves.
• The sound waves lose energy because the non-
directional fibers trap airborne sound more
effectively compared to general insulation
products which contain straight laid glass wool
with an air gap.
MEDIUM PILE • Thickness: 7mm (with

CARPET 36mm underlay)

Location of use: All room flooring • Features: Absorbs

the noise created by
shoes
• Medium pile carpets are covered over the concrete
flooring in house as concrete is a sound reflector that
reflects and interferes with incident sound waves in the
room.
• To prevent this, the medium-pile carpet is used to absorb
the impact of noise created by footsteps and dropped
objects from the walkers.
• The carpets are porous which enables sound waves to
penetrate into the pile carpet instead of being reflected
back into the room.
• Pile carpets are effective sound absorbers also because
the individual fibers, pile tufts, and underlays have
different resonant frequencies at which they absorb sound
waves.
• The wide range of resonant frequencies enables it to
absorb a wide range of sound waves.
HARDWOOD TIMBER • Thickness: 20mm

unwanted noise from
foot traffic
• The original flooring system is reinforced concrete. A
reinforced concrete floor is a reflective material that does
not insulate or absorb sound waves. However, its high
mass can increase sound transmission loss of structure-
borne sound.
• To overcome the reflective properties of concrete, a 20mm
thick polished timber parquet is laid over most of the
surface area of the stage to improve sound absorption.
• Due to heavy foot traffic that would occur during a
tournament/game, the timber parquet is not sufficient in
absorbing unwanted sound. A Marmoleum vinyl sheet is
later covered above the timber surface. Marmoleum vinyl
sheets increase the impact time, which promotes sound
reduction. With the combination of 3 layers of flooring,
unwanted noise from foot traffic is reduced.

Door seals Bass traps - streaming room

Made of aluminium, these door seals Reduces echo and reverberation
come with flexible nylon brushes, which Reduces room modes and low frequency
do not break or shrink standing waves
Conserves electricity by trapping the air
and by not creating noise by slamming

EXTERIOR MATERIAL
FIBRE-REINFORCED CONCRETE
• Shade: light blue (to get along with the concept of the game
Final Fantasy IX)

Reasons why Fibre- Reinforced Concrete is good:

• Less cracking due to early-age shrinkage.
• Better cohesion in the fresh concrete.
• Higher flexural and shear strengths.
• Improved load capacity and ductility.
• Increased abrasion resistance.
• Increased fire resistance.
• Potential to reduce CO2.

Introduction
Home of Legends is an eSports hub in the heart of London,
designed for Fnatic. Fnatic is one of the most storied
eSports organizations in Europe. Home of Legends offers
spaces for Fnatic’s professional players to train, eat, come
together and sleep, and the building can also be visited by
fans. These two realities co-exist in this one building.

The structure is designed as a series of scenes for the

visitor to explore, rather than relying on a series of floor
plans as in traditional architecture. This creates a
fragmented building. There is no route in the Home of
Legends building. You can go in many places and then go
in different directions, up and down again. This temple of
gaming is fragmented the way the internet is fragmented:
one will have to find their way through it.
The company has its headquarters in London, near the Silicon Roundabout at redchurchStreet, with a full-time
senior management team including a CEO, CGO, Sales Director, Accounts Director and Head of Creative
Services

PANELS
Specifically designed to reduce unwanted
echo, reverberation and background noise.

Available in 4’ x 6’ and 2’ x 6’ panels.

Color – Red and black

Installation – Vertically hung around the

perimeter of the room.

These panels were used in the Streaming

areas, Common gaming areas and in some
of the private rooms.

Hanging Instructions
Attaching Clips To The Panel: Every REVRB™ Acoustic Panel has ¾” wood frame
to allow you to mount the Z-clip to. Using the 8 – ¾” Pan Head Phillips Deep
Thread Screw (not provided) screw one section of the z-clip within ¾” edge,
usually 4” from the side (see photo to the right). Make clip level and face the
open end down (see diagram above). Do this twice for the top. For the bottom,
mount one screw onto the left and right ¾” edge, within 4” from the bottom of
the panel. Attaching Clips To The Wall: Attached secondary clip (as shown in the
diagram above) to the wall, open end of the z clip must face up. The distance
from left clip to right clip will be the same as the clips on the panel. Determine
the height of the clips on the wall based on the height you want the panel and
also the location you put the z-clips from the corners of the panels. Use the
proper screws to mount the clips to the wall. See above notes to determine what
screws/anchors you should use. Mounting The Panel On The Wall: Place the panel
flat against the wall and slide down to engage and interlock the z-clips. The panel
should be snug on the wall, all clips interlocking.
Rockwool panels
Rockwool is a non-combustible, lightweight product that has some
excellent acoustical-dampening proprieties.

It also is dimensionally stable, so it makes it ideal for a friction fit in

wall, ceiling, and floor applications. Another interesting fact about it
is that the rock wool is chemically inert, that’s why it won’t promote
corrosion.

Because of its compounds and weight, it is really easy to cut. The

cutting will not require any special tools.

You can even use a knife if you are careful enough. However, you will
need to cut it because it usually comes in thick pieces when bought.

Rockwool even comes at a budget-friendly price, but, unfortunately,

the design isn’t that pretty.
Where is it used?
Rockwool panels are used in the meeting areas and common offices and parts of the lobby (Seating).
BASS TRAPS
Bass traps are acoustic energy absorbers which are designed
to damp low frequency sound energy with the goal of
attaining a flatter low frequency room response by reducing
LF resonances in rooms.

Bass traps were installed in the streaming areas.

They are always installed in the corner of the rooms

DOOR SEALS
• Soundproof door seals reduce the air and sound transferred
through entrances by lining the perimeter of doors with
aluminum and silicone
• Door Seal works by creating an airtight space so that sound
cannot freely travel through one of the weakest parts of the
room.
• The rolls are made out of strong, resilient foam, and are easy
to adhere.
DOOR SWEEPS
• Automatic Door Sweeps reduce noise transfer through doors
by forming a tight fit against the threshold of a door.
• It can be installed on new doors with cheap vinyl sweeps, or
to existing doors with old, worn-out sweeps.
• Automatic Door Sweeps can be installed on wood and metal
doors. Automatic Sweeps are made of heavy duty aluminum,
long lasting silicone seals and include all stainless steel
hardware.
• Silicone seals remain flexible in a variety of temperatures and
resist tears better then the less durable, widely available vinyl
and foam seals.
