Commission painting service

Hi, thanks for getting in touch regarding my commission painting service! If you’ve not seen my work before, please make sure
you’re aware of my painting style, which can be seen on my blog: http://port-imperiale.blogspot.com/, before asking me to
undertake any work. I am an ‘old school’ style figure painter, (former Golden Demon finalist in 1988/89!), and my ‘style’ is very
much of that era. I aim towards the ‘Blanchitsu’ style, which is an acquired taste, but I’ve been doing it for so long I don’t really
fancy changing it!

If you’re still reading after all that, then the following is a list of the work I do at the various levels:
Model Type Prepwork Basic Advanced Character
Human sized Infantry £1 £5 £7.50 £10
Human Sized Cavalry/Biker £2 £10 £15 £20
30-40mm base size. (Small Monsters etc) £2 £10 £15 £20
50-60mm base size. (Large Monsters etc) £5 £15 £20 £30
60mm+ base size. (Very large Monsters etc) £10 £30 £45 £60
Small Vehicles (Up to Rhino size) £10 £20 £30 £40
Larger Vehicles (Size dependent) £15+ £30+ £45+ £60+
Basing (up to 30mm) - £1 £2 £3
Basing (40-60mm) - £2 £4 £6
Larger or custom bases - £5+ £10+ £20+
(These charges are a general guide, I’m happy to discuss rates dependent on the order size and your precise requirements)
Prepwork
This is the basic work needed to get your models into a state ready for undercoating, and includes:
§ Assembly of models.
§ Cleaning of mouldlines.
§ Filling gaps/holes etc. with Greenstuff.
§ Pinning of larger models where required.
If prepwork is not paid for but mouldlines, gaps etc are visible on the models received, I would prefer to fix these issues, and if this
is the case, I will confirm with you regarding any extra costs before starting on painting. If you’d rather I just carry on, I will work
around them as best I can, but this will obviously have an impact on the finished model. If you’d prefer to assemble vehicles etc
yourself, please arrange how far to build the model prior to sending it to me, as some models are difficult to paint when fully
assembled.

Basic Level

This is a minimum tournament level, so there is little detailing, and just enough to class as painted for gaming. Work includes:
§ Undercoat.
§ Base colours as required, and either a dip, wash or drybrush.
§ Picking out of minimal details.

Advanced Level
This is a more standard ‘tabletop’ level of painting, and includes:
§ Multiple levels of shading/highlights.
§ Variations on fabric colours etc within units (if relevant).
§ Detailing including eyes etc.
§ Weathering effects as required.

Character Level
This is the highest level I’m prepared to do, and includes the following:
§ Extra modelling, such as adding bowstrings etc on models without them.
§ Finer facial and outfit detailing
§ Complex fabric patterns (stripes/camo etc)
§ Tattoos or other complex designs such as unit insignia.
§ Any other bespoke work requested.

Basing
With regard to basing, I offer several different levels (or none!), with the basing style to be discussed beforehand. As a rough guide,
the levels are as follows:
Basic basing – This is just a single layer of flock or sand.
Advanced basing – This level is a mix of several types of basing materials, and painted as necessary.
Character basing – This is the highest level and will include multiple basing materials, extra details and custom bits etc.

If you want to do the basing yourself, or the model has no base, (such as a large vehicle etc), then obviously there is no charge.
Larger, custom sized/shaped bases can be made, but may include an extra charge, again, by negotiation.
