I HAVE LEARNED SEVERAL THINGS THROUGHOUT THIS
SUBJECT THAT WILL HELP ME IN THE FUTURE, AND THAT WILL HELP ME GROW AS A PERSON, AS WELL. MICRO PERSPECTIVE OF TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY COVERED THE WORKINGS, OPERATIONS, AND THE INTEGRATIVE ACTIVITIES OF THE MAJOR STAKEHOLDERS IN THE TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY. I ALSO GAIN KNOWLEDGE ON MANAGING AND MARKETING A SERVICE-ORIENTED BUSINESS ORGANIZATION. I ALSO LEARNED THAT A TOURIST IS GENERALLY ONLY CLASSED AS SUCH IF THEY STAY IN OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATION SITUATED IN THE LOCATION THEY TRAVEL TO. BY ITS VERY NATURE, TOURISM INVOLVES A ROUND TRIP, RATHER THAN TRAVEL IN ONE DIRECTION ONLY. WITH THIS IN MIND, THE TOURISM INDUSTRY REFERS TO ALL ASPECTS OF THE SERVICE INDUSTRY THAT CATER TO TOURISTS. TRAVEL REFERS TO THE ACT OF MOVING FROM ONE LOCATION TO ANOTHER. THIS CAN REFER TO LONGDISTANCE TRAVEL, SHORT-DISTANCE TRAVEL, OVERSEAS TRAVEL, DOMESTIC TRAVEL AND VARIOUS OTHER FORMS. CRUCIALLY, TRAVEL ALSO INCLUDES BOTH ROUND TRIPS AND ONE-WAY JOURNEYS, AND IT COVERS A WIDE VARIETY OF DIFFERENT TRAVEL PURPOSES. THE TRAVEL INDUSTRY, THEREFORE, REFERS TO THE NUMEROUS ASPECTS OF THE WIDER SERVICE INDUSTRY WHICH CATER FOR THE NEEDS AND DESIRES OF THOSE WHO HAVE TRAVELLED FROM ONE PART OF THE WORLD TO ANOTHER. APART FROM THE SCOPE AND STRUCTURE OF THE TRAVEL ORGANIZATIONS, IT PROVIDES AN IN DEPTH STUDY OF THE NATURE AND DISTINCTIVE CHARACTERISTICS OF EACH SECTOR OF THE ENTIRE TOURISM INDUSTRY, FOCUSING ON THE MANAGEMENT, ORGANIZATION AND PLANNING OF SPECIFIC BUSINESS STRATEGIES FOR THE VARIOUS ENTITIES IN THE LOCAL SETTING.THIS IS ALSO INVOLVING THE ANALYSIS OF THE POSSIBLE IMPACTS OF EXTERNAL FACTORS AND TRENDS ON THE DIFFERENT TOURISM INDUSTRY SECTORS AND SPECIFIC TYPES OF BUSINESSES. IT WILL ALSO LOOK INTO CLIENT PROFILING SUCH AS TRAVEL MOTIVATIONS AND INFLUENCES AS IT RELATES TO ALIGNING STRATEGIC AND TACTICAL SOLUTIONS TO THE BUSINESS. THIS SUBJECT IDENTIFIES THE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE IN EACH SECTOR AND THE CORRESPONDING QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOBS. A MICRO PERSPECTIVE FOCUSES ON INDIVIDUAL REACTIONS TO CHANGES IN ONE’S OWN WORKPLACE. IT HELPS ME TO KNOW ON HOW CHANGES IN DAILY WORK AFFECT KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ON THE INDIVIDUAL OR GROUP LEVEL. IT IS ARGUED THAT THE MICRO PERSPECTIVES ARE ADVANTAGEOUS IF EDUCATIONAL GOALS ARE PURSUED WHICH AIM AT FOSTERING WORKPLACE MY REFLECTION
LEARNING AND COMPETENCE DEVELOPMENT. THERE ARE
DIFFERENT SECTORS IN TRAVEL INDUSTRY SUCH AS THE AIR INDUSTRY, LODGING COMPANIES, TRAVEL AGENCIES, CRUISE LINES, TOUR OPERATORS ETC. WHEN I THINK ABOUT WHAT COUNTS AS LEARNING TO ME, I THINK ABOUT MY LIFE. JUST BEING ABLE TO LIVE IN THIS WORLD TO ME IS A LEARNING EXPERIENCE BECAUSE I FEEL THAT MY LIFE IS FULL OF LESSONS, AND I BELIEVE THAT IT TAKES LESSONS TO LEARN IN LIFE. I FEEL THAT I HAVE LEARNED TO UNDERSTAND LEARNING MORE AND TO ALSO UNDERSTAND THE VALUE OF LEARNING. I ALSO LEARNED THE TYPES OF LODGING THAT WAS DISCUSSED BY MS. RICHELLE CANLAS ZAMORA, I FIND HER LESSONS VERY INTERESTING THAT I WANTED TO EXPERIENCE SOMEDAY. AS I GET OLDER, I CAN COMPREHEND SUBJECT MATTERS MORE THAN I COULD EVER DO BEFORE.I AM LEARNING TO BE MORE SERIOUS, AND I FIND MYSELF NOT TAKING LIFE FOR GRANTED ANYMORE. I NOW LOOK FORWARD TO LEARNING NEW THINGS EVERY DAY. I FEEL THAT I AM BEGINNING TO HAVE A PASSION FOR LEARNING. I NEVER THOUGHT THAT I WOULD FEEL THIS WAY ABOUT LEARNING BECAUSE I NEVER DID APPRECIATE IT LIKE I DO NOW. I NOW ACTUALLY YEARN TO LEARN; I FEEL THAT I NEED TO LEARN NEW THINGS.EVERY ASSIGNMENT I HAVE DONE IN THIS SUBJECT IS TEACHING ME SOMETHING NEW. I THINK I FEEL THIS WAY BECAUSE I AM MATURING, AND I NOW VIEW LEARNING DIFFERENTLY THAN I DID. THE MORE I GET OLDER, THE MORE I AM INTERESTED IN THE WORLD. I AM INTERESTED IN MANY THINGS. I WANT TO LEARN TO OVERCOME VARIOUS THINGS. FROM UNDERSTANDING OF OTHER OCCUPATIONS TO UNDERSTANDING OTHER PEOPLE AND FOREIGN CULTURES. CURIOSITY IS NOT ONLY IN THE OUTSIDE WORLD, BUT ALSO IN MYSELF. I WORK HARD EVERY DAY TO LEARN MORE ABOUT MYSELF. I REALLY ENJOYED THIS SUBJECT FOR THIS SEMESTER.
