CRITERIA AND GUIDELINES FOR HUMAN LANTERN

I. Participant
1. Each School/Department namely JHS, SBAHM, SASTE, SITE, SNAHS, SHS SET A,
and SHS SET B should have minimum of five (5) and maximum of ten (10) student
participants and one (1) faculty for the making of the outfit and another two (2)
participants, one male and one female as the model.
2. The contestants are expected to be at the venue 20 minutes before the competition starts.
II. Mechanics
1. Each participant must wear costume in line with the theme.
2. All material to be used in your design must consist of recycled/waste items, indigenous
materials. Each design must be durable to wear during the fashion show. Ensure that
materials used in the design will not cause harm to your model or to the public.
3. Participants are prohibited from using fire hazardous chemicals, flammable substances, or
similar materials to enhance their human lantern.
4. Any comfortable footwear that is safe to walk in is allowed in the competition.
5. Six (6) days before the event, the participants are asked to make the outfit in a designated
room assigned by the PSG Council to be monitored by PSG Uniwide officers.
6. Before the making of the costumes, each department is mandated to show the materials to
be used and the design which they will make. Should there be any additional materials to
be used, the PSG Uniwide should be informed. The copy should be printed with no
tampering nor erasing.
7. During the last day, students from the different departments are asked to show their final
outputs at the assigned room at exactly 5:00 pm. The room shall be closed immediately
after.
8. Each department must submit a video of the creation and description of the dress. The
video includes the process and the concept of the attire. The video should last for 2-4
minutes.
9. The base of the costume should be indigenous and recycled.
10. Designs that are offensive, obscene or too revealing will not be allowed.

IV. General Provisions

YOUR FACE SOUNDS FAMILIAR

I. Participants
1. Each School/Department namely JHS, SBAHM, SASTE, SITE, SNAHS, SHS
SET A, and SHS SET B should have a five (5) participants.
2. 4 participants shall serve as back-up dancer and 1 main performer.
3. The contestants are expected to be at the venue 20 minutes before the competition
starts.

II. Mechanics

1. Each participant is to impersonate a local or/and international icon.


2. Costumes should not be too revealing. Movements that are obscene and
provocative and lewd are strictly prohibited
3. The duration of the performance should be 3-4 minutes (time starts once the
music is played). 1 minute is allotted for preparation. Every lapse second of the
allotted time is accorded for one (1) point deduction from the total score.
4. The use of props and costumes are allowed provided that it should follow the
University’s Rules and Regulations.
5. Cross-dressing is strictly prohibited.
6. All audio related of the participants must be in minus one or remix.

THE PAULINIAN VOICE: BATTLE ROUNDS

I. Participants
1. Three (3) contestants from Each School/Department namely JHS, SBAHM, SASTE,
SITE, SNAHS, SHS SET A, and SHS SET B who qualified from The Paulinian Voice:
Blind Auditions shall compete in the Battle Rounds.
2. The contestants are expected to be at the venue 20 minutes before the competition
starts.

II. Mechanics
1. There will be three (3) individual performances for each department.
2. The battles shall be in the form of solo singing, where the contestants will try to
“outsing” each other.
3. At the end of the performance of all the contestants from each department, the judges
will call the contestants to proceed to the stage. There, the judges will announce who
gets to be qualified for The Paulinian Voice: Final Round
4. In conclusion, six (7) contestants (one from each department) shall proceed to The
Paulinian Voice: Final Round.
5. The contestants are free to decide on their song to perform. Their performance should
only last for 1 minutes 45 seconds at most.
6. Their attire should not be obscene, lewd, and provocative
7. The use of props is not allowed

III. Criteria for judging

CRITERIA AND GUIDELINES FOR ESSAY WRITING CONTEST


I. Participants
1. Each School/Department namely JHS, SBAHM, SASTE, SITE, SNAHS, SHS SET A, and
SHS SET B must have one (1) contestant only.
2. The contestants are expected to be at the venue 20 minutes before the competition starts.

II. Mechanics
1. The essay must be written in English.
2. The essay shall consist of not less than 500 words.
3. The contestants are given one (1) hour and thirty minutes to finish their essay.
4. The contestants shall be provided with papers on which their composition shall be
written.
5. Only given number codes shall appear on the contestant’s paper for the purpose of
identification.
6. Prepared essays are not allowed and copying one's work during the activity is strictly
prohibited.
7. The essay must deliver a clear and positive message about the theme.
8. The use of violent, obscene and vulgar words or any negative messages in the essay is not
accepted.
9. Failure to comply with these given guidelines shall result to deduction of points from the
total score of the entry. One (1) point will be deducted for every violation made.

CRITERIA AND GUIDELINES FOR PHOTO-POETRY CONTEST


I. Participants
1. Each School/Department namely JHS, SBAHM, SASTE, SITE, SNAHS, SHS SET A, and
SHS SET B should have two (2) contestants only. They are to work as a pair.
2. The contestants are expected to be at the venue 20 minutes before the competition starts.

II. Mechanics
1. Each entry must include the following: one (1) photograph and one (1) poem about the
photograph. The photos to be taken are within the premises of SPUP and the theme is to
be revealed during the competition.
2. Each contestant is given one (1) hour to take their desired photograph within the
university and is required to submit the soft copy of their chosen photograph to the officer
in charge.
3. The contestants are also given one (1) hour to make the short poem about the photo.
Every lapse of the allotted time is accorded for one (1) point deduction from the total
score.
4. The poem to be written must be inspired by their chosen photograph.
5. Editing of the photos is not allowed.

CRITERIA AND GUIDELINES FOR THE ON-THE-SPOT MURAL MAKING CONTEST


I. Participants
a. Each School/Department namely JHS, SBAHM, SASTE, SITE, SNAHS, SHS
SET A, and SHS SET B should have five (5) contestants only.
b. The contestants are expected to be at the venue 20 minutes before the competition
starts.
II. Mechanics
a. The contestants shall provide their own materials.
b. The contestants are to use a wood canvas with a size of 120cm (1.2m) width,
300cm (3m) height, with a triangular base of 60cm by 50cm.
c. The mural is to signify the clear and positive message relevant to the theme. (The
use of violent, brutal, sexual, or any negative messages in the mural is prohibited.)
d. The team is given six consecutive hours, 9:00am-3:00pm, to work for their murals
at the University Grandstand.

GUIDELINES FOR LARO NG LAHI


I. KADANG-KADANG
I. Participants
1. Each School/Department namely JHS, SBAHM, SASTE, SITE, SNAHS, SHS SET A, and
SHS SET B should have five (5) participants.
2. Four (4) students and one (1) faculty and/or staff comprise the team.
3. The contestants are expected to be at the venue 20 minutes before the competition starts.
II. Mechanics

1. The participants form their respective lines. Those who are in the front row are the first
ones to use the kadang-kadang.
2. They are to walk towards the end point and be able to go back to their lines to pass on the
kadang-kadang to those who are in the second row. The second batch of participants will
then pass the kadang-kadang to those on the third row and so on.
3. The end point is 20 feet away from the participants.
4. In case a participant fails to keep his/her balance on the kadang-kadang, he/she doesn’t
have to go back to the starting point. He/she is to continue from where he/she stopped.
5. The first group with the fastest time wins
III. General Provisions

II. EGG CATCHING


I. Participants
1. Each School/Department namely JHS, SBAHM, SASTE, SITE, SNAHS, SHS SET A, and
SHS SET B should have six (6) participants; they are to work as a team. (3 pairs)
2. The contestants are expected to be at the venue 20 minutes before the competition starts.
II. Mechanics
1. The participants form two (2) lines (A&B) in such a way that those who belong to the
same department face each other.
2. Each of the participants in line A holds an egg and throws it to his/her partner in line B.
3. The participants in lines A& B move farther as the game goes on another level so the
distance between the lines increases.
4. The goal for this game is to be able to catch the egg without breaking it. Once the egg
breaks, the participants can no longer continue with the game. Minimal cracks without
leakage of the egg’s contents (yolk and the white) are considered valid.
5. Failure to catch the egg automatically disqualifies the participants even if the missed egg
is still intact.
6. The game continues until such time that only two of the participants remain. The
remaining pair is declared as winner.
III. General Provisions

b. The decision of the judges is final, executory and irrevocable.

III. SACK RACE


I. Participants
1. Each School/Department namely JHS, SBAHM, SASTE, SITE, SNAHS, SHS SET A, and
SHS SET B has twelve (12) participants.
2. Seven (9) students and three (3) faculty members comprise the team.
3. The contestants are expected to be at the venue 20 minutes before the competition starts.
II. Mechanics
1. Each team is given one (3x1) sack for the race.
2. The participants form their respective lines. Those who are in the front row are the first ones
to use the sack.
3. The participants must be able to jump towards the end point with their feet enclosed by a
sack. They can pull the edges of the sack for support. Upon reaching the end point, they must be able
to go back to their lines to pass on the sacks to those who are in the second row. The second batch of
participants will then pass the sacks to those on the third row.
4. The end point is 20 feet away from the participants.
5. In case a participant fails to keep his/her balance, he/she doesn’t have to go back to the
starting point. He/she is to continue from where he/she stopped.
6. The first group to finish the task is declared winner.
III. General Provisions

b. Non-compliance to the guidelines is a ground for disqualification.

IV. TUG OF WAR


I. Participants
1. Each School/Department namely JHS, SBAHM, SASTE, SITE, SNAHS, SHS SET A, and
SHS SET B must have Three (3) students and two (2) faculty members comprise the team.
2. The contestants are expected to be at the venue 20 minutes before the competition starts.
II. Mechanics
1. The game shall be seven-team double elimination.
2. Each side of the rope must be held tightly by the members of both teams.
3. The first person on each line is assigned as the head. His/her task is to get the handkerchief
attached to the center of the rope as his/her team pulls the rope towards their side. The team who gets
the handkerchief wins.
III. General Provisions
a. The use of violence is strictly prohibited.
b. Non-compliance to the guidelines is a ground for disqualification.
c. The decision of the judges is final, executory and irrevocable.

V. PINOY HENYO
I. Participants
1. Each School/Department namely JHS, SBAHM, SASTE, SITE, SNAHS, SHS SET A, and
SHS SET B) should have two (2) participants; they are to work as a team.
2. The contestants are expected to be at the venue 20 minutes before the competition starts.
II. Mechanics
1. Each team is to choose one (1) member to be the mind and another member to be the
blind. The blind will be the guesser and the mind gives an answer by saying “Oo”,
“Hindi” and “Pwede”.
2. As soon as the team guesses the word, another word will be provided automatically.
Passing to another word without guessing yet the given word is prohibited.
3. Each team is provided a list of words.
4. The goal of the game is to guess as many words as the participants can within two (2)
minutes.
5. Whichever team gets the highest number of words guessed will be the winner.
III. General Provisions
a. The use of violence is strictly prohibited.
b. Non-compliance to the guidelines is a ground for disqualification.
c. The decision of the judges is final, executory and irrevocable.

VI. CATCH THE DRAGON TALE


II. Participants
a. Each School/Department namely JHS, SBAHM, SASTE, SITE, SNAHS, SHS SET A, and
SHS SET B should have ten (8) participants.
b. Six (6) students and two (2) faculty members comprise the team.
c. The contestants are expected to be at the venue 20 minutes before the competition starts.
II. Mechanics
a. Each team is to provide one handkerchief.
b. The game shall be in a seven-team single elimination.
c. All the players line up and put their hands on the waist of the person in front of them.
d. The last person in line tucks one end of the handkerchief in his/her back pocket. The first
person in the line is the dragon's head, the last is the dragon's tail. The first person in lines tries to
grab the handkerchief.
e. The head tries to catch the tail by maneuvering the line around so he/she can tag the tail. The
line must follow the head and must not break. All the other players must try to stop the head from
tagging the tail. When the head catches the tail, the tail player takes the front position and becomes
the new dragon's head. All the other players move back one position.
f. The first group to finish the task is declared winner.

PINOY AMAZING RACE


I. Participants
1. Each School/Department namely JHS, SBAHM, SASTE, SITE, SNAHS, SHS SET A,
and SHS SET B should have five (5) participants; they are to work as a team.
2. The contestants are expected to be at the venue 20 minutes before the competition starts.

II. Mechanics
1. During the game, each team should always be intact.
2. There will be nine (9) stations including the last station where the winner will be
declared.
3. Each station has a challenge to be accomplished by the team in order to get the next clue
for the next station and for the next challenge and so on.
4. The first team to arrive at the last station will be declared the winner.

III. General Provisions


a. The use of violence is strictly prohibited.
b. Non-compliance to the guidelines is a ground for disqualification.
c. The decision of the judges is final, executory and irrevocable.
