HIP-HOP DANCE GUIDELINES/MECHANICS

1. Hip-hop dancers must be Grade 10 students of Sapang Bato National High School

2. Each group must have twenty-five to forty dancers occupying the dance floor.

3. There is a maximum time limit of three to five minutes including entrance and exit.

The teams will be given thirty seconds to prepare before the start of the routine and

another thirty seconds to leave the performance area. Exit time will continue to run if

there are dancers left on the performance area. Violation of time allowed for entrance

and exit would mean 3 points deduction from the score.

4. Dancers must wear appropriate clothing and under garments all the time during the

performance. For example, costume that is too short or too tight may be considered as

inappropriate.

5. It is prohibited to use body oils and other substances or effects that may affect the dry

surface of the stage area. This might compromise the safety of other dancers.

6. Footwear is required during performance. Dancers can wear dance shoes, sneakers,

boots, but NOT jazz shoes, tap shoes and bare feet.

7. The participating group must submit their music to the subject teacher three (3) days

before the competition proper.


8. Participating group are not allowed to practice outside. They can have their practice

after their classes 3:10pm-5:00pm. Violating the rule would mean that the group will

be no longer permitted to perform.

9. Averaging system will be followed in the final tally.

10. Each violation will be deducted 3 points from their final average.

11. Judges decision is final and irrevocable.
