Geometric
Lamp
The created project represents a lampshade--
where in four sides of the model, the symbols of the
four basic mathematical operations (addition,
subtraction, multiplication, division) are found. The
purpose of the model is to represent how these four
'basic' operations can serve as the 'light' for new
knowledge.
About the project:
The project made use of only two
materials--popsicle sticks and a light fixture.
Moreover, these popsicle sticks were designed
in a way that not only resulted to a
mathematics-inspired lamp model, but they
were also arranged in a way that shows
mathematical implications in its details--such
as geometrical figures, inclined angles, and
many more.

There are several ways on how you can present
geometry structures through different materials
and concepts. But our group thought of
something that is not usual, something that is
quite overlooked when it comes to its capability
of showcasing mathematical figures. That is why
we concluded to make a lampshade, not just a
typical lampshade but a lampshade that will serve
as a reflection of the basic operations that is
most commonly used in the mathematical world.
