1. OBJECTIVES:

● To recognize the quantifiers used with countable and uncountable nouns.


● To implement the use of quantifiers to give more information about how much or how
many of an item you are talking about.
● To identify the use of quantifiers in different contexts.

2. PRESENTATION:

Dear student, in this guide you will find the content about quantifiers with countable and
uncountable nouns, their uses and grammar aspects. After developing this guide, you will be able
to describe and give more information about how much or how many of an item you are talking
about.

In order to use this guide appropriately, first of all, you should check the PDF file attached; in this
document you will find a clear explanation of the topic and see the grammar contents that you will
work on along this guide. After it, you will be able to develop the exercises and the final tasks.

This guide covers two weeks of work, it is further divided into four hours of independent work per
week. If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask your teacher.

2.1 Initial reflection:

With your previous knowledge in English solve the following questions.

→ How many restaurants are in your city, which one is your favorite and why?
There are many restaurants in Duitama, with a wide variety of food from typical regional
food to Mexican food and from other external places.

My favorite restaurant is Julio Parrilla because there is a variety in the food and its flavor is unique.

→ What is the food that you used to eat the most when you were a kid? Do you still eat it?
When I was a child I used to eat a lot of vegetables and grains
→ Have you travelled to another country? How many countries would you like to travel to?
No, I have not traveled to another country, but I would like to travel around the
world and learn about different cultures

6. INDIVIDUAL PRODUCTION
Write a text of 15 sentences paragraph where you describe the place where you live. You
can choose between your city, department or country. Use the quantifiers. You must
include aspects that you think are interesting in your region, you can illustrate them with
some pictures or photographs.
