ELECTION ASSISTANT
JOB SUMMARY:
The Election Assistant is responsible for working closely with and supporting the
Clerk/Director of Legislative Services and Deputy Clerk in the conduct of the Municipal
Election.
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Receive and respond to questions from the public with regard to voter
registration and the voting process.
2. Assist in coordinating the people, materials and equipment necessary to
implement the election.
3. Assist with maintaining and updating the voters’ list.
4. Perform the duties of an election official at the Elections Centre, Ballot Return
Stations and other election-related events and locations, as required.
5. Assist with election communications.
6. Performs all other duties as assigned by the Clerk/Director of Legislative
Services for the conduct of the election.
