1. Introduction of people who are presenting.
2. Interacting with students by talking about Udta Punjab (movie on drug use) and mentioning about
the advertisement regarding usage of tobacco and alcohol that are before the movie screening.
3. Questioning if they are aware of what is addiction and what are different kinds of addiction?
According to American Psychiatric Association “Addiction is a complex condition, a brain disease
that is manifested by compulsive substance use despite harmful consequence.”
A strong inclination to do, use, or indulge in something repeatedly.

4. Asking them to mention about different drugs they are aware of.

5. Giving some facts on substance abuse

per cent) suffer from a drug use disorder.” WHO reports of 2018
2018 study conducted by AIIMS depicts that “nearly 75% of Indian homes house at least one
drug user—usually a parent, and often the father.”
Indian journal of psychiatry article says that “almost half of the illicit problem drug users inject
drugs and an estimated 1.65 million of those who inject drugs were living with human
immunodeficiency virus (HIV).”
About 5.9% of all global deaths were attributable to alcohol consumption.

First identifying the root cause of abuse then based on that different coping strategies are
developed. Like for example substance abuse could be due to grieving so managing the grief and
finding outlet.
Psychologists, Social workers, nurses, volunteers and also recovered patients all work treatment
process.
Group therapy sessions and one-on therapies are provided based on requirement and necessity.
Physiological and psychological assistance are provided.
With minimal cost many Settings are available.
