Looks promising to me!
https://www.novelupdates.com/series/the-counterfeit-madam-hou/

Has anyone read this before? :aww::aww::aww: spoilers please!!!!

I want to know what will happen to the MC if she ever gets found out and why the
original female died.
Plus, I want to watch my heart since it's tagged as drama.

I'll wait for some spoilers here, but I'll give my opinion based on first synopsis
impression anyway: I already don't care for the MC and I won't feel any pity for
her when she rightfully gets caught and jailed for stealing someone else's
identity. She deserves nothing. I don't understand the decision to make your
protagonist a fraud, how is that sympathetic. However, I still haven't read the
novel and I might be wrong somewhere. For example being transmigrated into
someone's body when it's not your choice, and you have to live out their life, is
not that unacceptable (but also getting that body's ML is iffy af). But choosing to
snatch someone's body or identity - scum thing to do.

I repecutfully disagree. I think it's makes the MC itntresting. No every
protagonist has to be black or whote

The TL mentioned that this would be a cute, fluffy novel though... doubt it would
go into morally dark territory. I predict more in the way of identity switching
hijinks.

I'm kinda concerned why the original wife died though. I mean...why kill her? Or
why did she die? And I want to know the MCs circumstances. I do not like it that
she had to fool other people. Unless of course it's the evil people she's fooling
hohoho.

I read the MTL up to chapter 5 or so and then skipped to the end to see what
happened, its a HE. From my understanding, the ML and [Original]FL were childhood
friends. ML met the FL while she was bullied and they became friends then one day
the OFL just ignored the ML like out of nowhere and so they drifted apart but it
seems that the ML "loved'' her since they were children. There are some drama too
which not very clear to me (mtl).

I want to believe that the OFL and the counterfeit FL are one person and was
somehow switched with someone else. Because there was one part where the CFL was
talking to a little kid who is ML's relative saying that when she was a child she
had a friend who was always training (ML started his martial arts training when he
was a kid) but she doesn't know what happened to him cause she almost drowned (my
speculation: amnesia happened). That is why I think that they're the same person.
It may not be true I only read a couple chapter in the beginning then stop so I
really don't know.

I am really confused now? Was it not established in the translated chapters that
the maid saw two persons in the forest? And it is suggested that OFL hired the
current FL to impersonate her to escape the wedding? Or are there cultivation/wuxia
elements to this novel, then I guess it is possible.

So from my guess now that someone supplied more info, the MC and that girl were
somehow switched when they were children and the other girl took over MC's original
life, then MC lost her memories? So now, MC is taking the girl's identity but it
just so happens that it's originally her own identity and she's taking it back.
Which is a clever way of the author to excuse the MC and that's fine. It would also
be good if the girl hired the MC to take over her life. Then MC would be fine too.
I'm just really against a MC who merrily steals someone's identity to get their
cushy life and husband. Seems the author will avoid those pitfalls.

I feel that there's a loophole somewhere there...
