The love and bond with the language for those enchanted by its beauty extends far
beyond geographical boundaries.

For millennia, it has been a melting pot of great poets, authors and artists who have
shaped the very culture around their inspirational works.

It has lasted thousands of years, going strong with 80 million speakers worldwide today.
தமிழ் and the millennials...
From voicing opinions on current issues to leading change, the youth have been at the
forefront of many movements. They have effectively used technology and social media
to voice out and bring about a change and to reconnect with their culture, tradition and
roots.

Language, no doubt is the greatest contributor and linkage between us and our roots. It
brings us all together and gives us our identity.

Ours is an initiative to expose our youngsters to the magnificence of தமிழ் as we

together gear up to modern future.
As the tagline of
இணைவ ாம்’, this event aims to unite everybody

• An interesting one on-one-discussion between

the father son duo- Vairamuthu and Madhan
Karky on Thamizh then and now.

• This session aims to understand the two way

perspective of Thamizh and its beauty as
appreciated and enjoyed by two generation
representatives speaking for generations.
Bro…
• A lot has been spoken and discussed about the beauty and
cultural richness of Thamizh but considering today’s
scenario we still are unsure of how strong is the present
generation in the language.

• The pressure of taking up English as their first language for

communication has pushed Tamil to a place where a new
born ‘Tanglish’ is ruling the world of youngsters today.

• This session- a theatrical comedy play by a group aims to

expose and convey the bitter truth of today’s ‘Tanglish-
speaking’ generation and their strength in the language.
• The love for Tamil has seen no boundaries. The beauty and the
richness of the language has brought many Non- Tamilians have a
greater affinity to it.

• The contribution of a Non-Tamil speaking ‘Tamilian’ is way beyond

words and appreciation.

• This session, a monologue by a famous orator aims to celebrate

these unsung heroes- ‘Tamilian’ who own other languages as their
mother tongues yet have owned Tamil and taken it to greater
heights.

With Thamizh being the intersecting bond between its

patrons, the beauty of it is enhanced when one hears the
different slangs used by people from across Tamil Nadu.

How beautiful is to hear one language in multiple accents

and dialects, all sounding beautiful in its own way.

This session- a first of its kind live game show on the slangs
of Thamizh where people who own them participate,
hosted by RJ Balaji
Stand up Comedy
A stand up comedy session aiming to comically address and discuss the kinds of
stereotyping Tamils and Tamilians go through outside our state and the way it is
handled.
