Preface

The following procedures has been established and published to assure good painting quality on the
vessels to be built in xxx shipyard.

The Painting & Inspection Practice is prepared on the basis of the following:

1) Performance Standard for Protective Coatings(PSPC) for dedicated seawater ballast tanks in all type
of ships and double-side skin spaces of bulk carriers (IMO PSPC Resolution MSC. 215(82))
2) IACS Procedural Requirements No.34 on application of PSPC
3) IMO PSPC—Q&As and Common Interpretations by IACS
4) Industry Guideline for Implementation of MSC. 215(82)

The procedures are a guideline on how a successful newbuilding project is to be executed at xxx
shipyard, following the guidelines as indicated above.

It is expected that both owners, shipyards QC and QA, paint supplier and the classification society will
follow these procedures and support the selected coating inspector in compiling the Coating Technical
File (CTF).
