Now, determining what exactly “home” is may prove to be a tricky task. Though if we
were to talk semantics, we can easily define the term “home,” such definitions fail to
describe its more nuanced meaning; they fail to capture the essence of a “home” because
of how direct they are for the purpose of being practical. Now, a “home” is something
with varied meanings. To the overwhelming majority, a “home” is where the family is,
but for others, they may find “home” in their friends or in the presence of their closest
companions. Others may regard their “home” as their country, their city, or whatever
specific place they may find solace in. Acknowledging jokes in the internet, a “home”
could even be the place where the water doesn’t taste funny, or the place where they can
freely use the toilet to take a number two with complete confidence.
For me, my “home” brings me comfort. It doesn’t have to be a specific place, a specific
group of people (though my biases do lean towards my immediate family), it doesn’t
even have to be within a specific period of time; to me, home is equivalent to comfort.
