1. Scope
The scope of this method statement is to ensure that Hard Landscape unit pavers and interlocking tiles is
carried out using the approved procedure, which complies with the contract specifications.
This method statement determines the procedure to be followed through out the Hard Landscaping works.

3. Responsibilities
It is the Project Manager’s duty to ensure that all necessary safety and protective equipment are provided
along with the properly trained and qualified personnel.
It is the QA/QC Engineer’s duty to ensure that the Method Statement Procedure is adhered to by all
personnel.
It is the Site Engineer’s and the Foreman duty to organize the work in a safe manner, and in accordance with
the standards.
It is the duty of Safety Officer (assigned Foreman) to supervise and monitor activities and perform as per the
guidelines of HSE standards.
It is also the duty of Safety Officers (assigned Foreman) to report any accidents, near misses, and dangerous
occurrences to Safety Engineer and participate in the investigation process.
It is the Safety Officer’s (assigned Foreman) duty to initiate appropriate action for excellent safety
performance / repeated unsafe acts of personnel and implement safety measures as per HSE plan.
It is the Engineer’s/Foreman duty to ensure that all the works are performed to the satisfaction of the
Company and as per the project specifications.
It is the worker’s duty to adhere to all the safety rules. They must perform the work in accordance wit the
Method of Statement.

After getting the approval for the Shop Drawings from client/consultant, arrangements will be made to
procure the Material to site.
The approved material will be procured and delivered to the Site as per Schedule of works.
Access will be provided to the work place by coordination with other contractors.
Approved interlocking tiles shall be procured from the approved supplier and it shall be stocked in site.
For the car parking and service road area 80mm thick interlock tiles shall be used.
Tile Pattern, Design and colors shall be followed as in approved shop drawings for walk and other areas.

Screened dune sand shall be spread on top of tile surface and compacted using plate compactor to
achieve flat well compacted interlocked tile pavement.
Care shall be taken not to leave any un compacted areas of paving at the end of working periods, except
within 1 meter of unrestrained edges.
Check paving after compacting first few meters, then at frequent intervals to ensure that surface levels
are as-specified.
If it’s not compacted then brush sand into joints, re-vibrate surface and repeat as required to completely
fill joints and until pavers are uniformly level, true to grade and free of any movement.
Avoid damaging kerbs and adjacent work during vibration. Edge restraint will be provided to all
perimeters of paved areas to eliminate the loss of bedding course material.

All the works will be undertaken in accordance with site safety regulations as stated in the contract
documents.
The site will be kept clean and tidy in accordance with site safety regulations, mainly at the time of soil
spreading and after spreading activities.
All the machinery will be checked (daily routine maintenance) before starting the work by the operators and
then by Safety Officer.
All the machinery works will be performed in accordance with site safety regulations for utmost safety.
