Protocols of the Hoi Polloi

A member of the hoi polloi believes the following:

1. ‘hoi polloi’ refers to people of sophistication.

2. Anything having a name that begins with an upper-case letter exists.

3. Any unchallenged posting is true.

4. “I have the right to move the goal posts.”

5. If someone agrees with my position, it is for the same reason that I hold the position.

6. The whole purpose of learning mathematics is to make me a better shopper.

7. If something is difficult to pronounce, it must be bad for me.
