Define TV Screen:

The system of transferring the visual images as well as sound to be reproduced on the screens is
known as television screen. It aims to broadcast different types of the programs to be on aired,
which may be of informative nature, related to business world, fun and entertainment, as well as
education related programs.

The format and the structure of the story to be broadcasted has a well-specified timings allotted
for the each program. For a story of half an hour, it takes almost 22 minutes to complete whereas
a dram or a program of an hour takes around 45 minutes. The commercials are adjusted in time
slot between the programs in the form of small intervals of break within half an hour or an hour
of program. Television screen has become the prime part of our lives as the people belonging to
every age , gets to watch television either to entertain themselves, have knowledge of the world
through bulletins, or seek educational skills which makes it common among every age group.

Television Program Formats

Television program formats include TV Show or TV Program. TV Show and TV Programor


ultimately the same thing.

I watch different types of programs like Fictional Program and Non-fictional Program

NON-FICTIONAL PROGRAMME
In non-fictional Programs, these programs are reality-based. And in these programs content

Is not based on fiction or epic.

TYPES OF NON-FICTIONAL PROGRAMME

News
In news I watch news bulletin or news packages for example headlines of 9pm on Geo or ARY
News.

News Program
News Program: In news Program I watch different programs from different news channels but my
favorites are Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath and 11th Hour who’s anchor is Wasim Badami. These
programs are based on discussion and debate and most of the time the discussion is about current affair
and contemporary issues. They usually broadcasted on formal and on serious issues.
LIVE Shows
I watch different Television channels that telecast sports and some important events live for example I
watch Cricket live on PTV Sports and wrestling on Ten Sports and live News Headlines.

Documentary
I watched different documentaries on television. These are based on real life and are non-fictional
program.

I watch different documentaries related to tourism, environment, history, science, technology. For
example documentary on the life of Quaid Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah,Pakistan Movement and on
the life of animals like lion.

There are different channels which are dedicated to documentaries only, for example Discovery and
National Geographic Channel.

Religious Programs

I watch different religious programs like Alim Online on ARY and and Madni Channel

Reality Show
Reality shows are very popular nowadays. I watch TikTokers Game show on Bol Nestwork and
Champions which is also Reality Show I watch on Bol Network.

I also watched Indian show like Indian Idol, Big Boss.

Variety Shows
These shows include entertainment, music, interview, humorous chat, etc. I watch Different shows In
Pakistan, I watch Hasbe Haal, KHABARDAR and in India, I watch Kapil Sharma show.

FICTIONAL PROGRAMME

I watch different fictional Programs on TELEVISION which are based or related to any story, play and
novel.

TYPES OF FICTIONAL PROGRAMME

SOAP OPERA
This is the most common fictional program format. It’s basically a television or radio drama serial dealing
typically with daily events in the lives of the same group of characters. I watch different SOAP OPERA
programs For example Ek Hi Bhool (TV series), Mehmoodabad Ki Malkain telecasted on ARY
Degital and Sanwari Drama Serial.

EPIC SERIAL
I watch these type of serials these are based on epic serials. For example Hazrat Suleman A.S movie is a
classic example of epic another example is The Message based on Islamic events.

SITCOM
This is Basically a Comedy based Drama and In the form of series In this format, the characters remain
the same but they create different stories in each episode. I watch different types of stories like this for
example Fifty Fifty and Suno Chanda a very Famus Drama

ROMCOM

I Watch shows like this on TV in which story based on Romance and


also include Humor or Comedy. For example I watch Parey Hut Love
and and Chupky Chupky a very famous Drama.

TV Series

TV series can be described as the collection of multiple episodes to form series whereas one
episode is known to be a show.

Example

I watch Game of Thrones as it is included in the TV series.

SERIES

I also watch CID and Money Heist

Cartoon Show

Cartoon shows being developed on the principles of stories are still vey much attractive and
interesting for me.

I spend nearly around five minutes watching Tom and Jerry with my younger sister.

Telefilm

Telefilms being shot in duration of 90 minutes is fascinating to me as I spend little lower time
than that of actual fil and get the whole idea of the film.

Yesterday I watched Left Right Left on Hum TV.

Shows relating to Count Down


Prominent songs belonging to films are on aired to pay homage to the artists and entertain the audience.
Also the host of such count down show talks interestingly bto entrtain the audience in between the time
interval of passing from the one song to another.

I watch such shows.

Q:2 Explain the difference between camera shots and angles with real life examples and
draw images where necessary.

Camera Shot

Camera shot can be defined as the amount or size of the subject to be taken inside the frame. It
reflects how much size of the subject is to be considered inside the shot of the camera like how
much of the person, thing or any other subject we can watch.

Extreme Long Shot

Extreme long shot displays the subjects enclosed within the frames as small, which could be a
building or scape.

Example

Building , sea view etc

Long Shot

A shot which highlights a complete figure of some object or the character from top to the bottom.

Example

No focus on the surrounding areas is given in such types of shots and the character is shown to
be focused in the vertical direction.

Wide Shot

Character, setting and action are displayed using a lens of wide angle through this type of shot.

Example

Establishing shot

Long shot employed to set up the scenery as well as the characters in the drama or movie is
known to be establishing shot.

Example
Helps in setting a movie scene whwere formation of scenery is shown to make the audience see
and connect with it.

Mid or Medium Shot

Type of shot where the human figure is shown in half is known to be mid or medium shot.

Example

Half body of the character, be it from the lower or upper side.

Close up shot

It primarily and closely focuses on the characters.

Example

In order to delve into the emotions of the characters, it shows close up display.

Extreme Close up shot

The whole frame encompasses the tight or extreme close up details of particular features of the
character.

Example

Be it someone’s eyes or other facial expressions, which fill up the whole screen. It is used to
highlight the dramatic expressions of the characters.

Bird eye shot or Aerial Shot

Bird eye shot is taken from the above showing certain landscapes or buildings from the above.

Example

The scene is shooted which makes the audience as if they are the bird themselves and are
viewing the scene from the top of the building.

Over the shoulder shot

Over the shoulder shot is also known as third person shot. The shot is taken from the shoulder of
another person

Example

Conversation happening between the two people are shown using this particular shot.

It also helps the audience to see the reaction of one over the speaker’s dialogue
Camera Angle
The camera angle can be defined as it helps in marking a location at which the camera is put for
taking a shot. One single scene can be shot using multiple camera angles at the same time.

High Angle Shot

High angle shot is when a camera is seen to be placed over the eyeline. It is used to reflect the
inferior nature of the character or the object.

Example

In an attempt to look down at the character, to show the powerlessness, this type of shot is made
used of.

Low Angle Shot

Low angle shot is done using a camera which is located towards the lower side or placed on the
vertical axis across the eye line looking upside.

Example

It is used to reflect the superiority of the character or object. In an attempt to associate power
with the character, to show the powerful nature, domination and importance, this type of shot is
made used of.

Eye Level Angle of Camera

For this shot, the camera is placed in alignment to the level of the character seen in the TV.

Example

A scene where the character and the audience are at the same level.

Point of view shot

Both camera shots and camera angles have this common feature of point of view shot
which has been demonstrated in the following.

Mostly, the camera shows the subject but sometimes the camera also makes visible what the
subject or the character is watching which is known to be termed as point of view shot.

Example

Such types of shot is used to shot two characters present simultaneously while talking.
